Works great with a gen 1 Volt. The latch on the Tesla side is good and robust, yet not stiff like other third party adapters. It actually has the j1772 shut off switch integrated into the plug latch so it actually does request a "stop charging" when you push the release handle. It does not fire "stop charging" if you unplug the Tesla side from the adapter, (while actively charging) so avoid doing that especially if it's raining. The car does detect it as "charge cord connected" even when it's plugged in naked so you can't drive with it on accident. If you own an EV that isn't a Tesla, and you'd like to charge on the common Tesla chargers all over the states (but not the superchargers), this is a great adapter to have on hand. ... show more

This works, seems sturdy and works great for charging my chevy bolt. I get full current through my Level 2 charger. I also like the way it's angled - although the total assembly of tesla charger + this adapter ends up being pretty long. My only complaint is the "switch" that locks the tesla connector into place - this is kind of hard to engage and disengage, and at the same time the latch has a lot of play so that it feels like it might accidentally come off - my confidence in the "security" is not there. In fact calling it a security lock is a bit misleading, as there is no real "security" (i.e. anyone could walk off with this) - but so far neither of these has been an issue. ... show more

I own a non-Tesla EV, so I can use just about any charging station. However, many of these are often out of order or occupied while I see several Tesla destination charger spots empty. This is where this adapter comes in handy. I plug in the Tesla cable to one end and connect the other to my car. Quick charging without the wait. BUT, beware of Tesla owners who are not aware that non-Tesla EVs can use the same charger as them. I have had entitled (?) Tesla owners to move my EV because I'm not allowed to use "their" charging stations. I've heard several stories related to my experience. Once I show them the online articles regarding this, they usually are more understanding. Anyway, this is a great adapter when you're in a fix to find an available charger. Great adapter for the mustang mach e. It’s been so useful and fits perfectly in the frunk/trunk. Very easy to put over a Tesla charger and has been a great addition. No complaints thus far. Car typically charges from 30-100% in 4 hours.

    • Works as Good as It Looks! And It Looks Cool!

Yeah, I mean it - gleaming in clean white, it's modern looking, but it's also very solid and well molded and tolerates a good bit of heat. I put it through a bit more than its rated amperage from a Tesla Level 2 charger with a high output going to a new Ioniq I'm breaking in, and, sure it got warm, but it handled it just fine. The vehicle didn't throw a fuss and never recorded a high temp at the port, and never thermal throttled down. Charger didn't care what it was pouring ~80 Amps into using peak current for Level 2, although it wasn't constantly at that level - the car doesn't like to take that full amount constantly to preserve the battery, I guess, but it did reach 80 according to the car's screen. So it's well built and takes more than it's rated for and looks nice and locks securely in both sides and feels weighty and well-made because it IS well-made: I proved it, I think. I love it. It's smart looking and cool. And it works great. I'll be using it quite a bit more. Big Recommend on this one! ... show more
