  • Solid cables. Plugged into 14-50 and started charging. Lowest price now for this solidcharger
Size: 40 Amp
Bought by first EV, Mustang Mach-e 2022 after ordering the car online. 6 months wait and Ford delivered as promised, no dealer markup. Needed a better charger than the one the came with the car, 32 amps. I did Amazon search and read the reviews, bought this one since it was rated 5 stars, Canadian made. Arrived over the weekend, plugged it in and was able to charge at 40A right away. Has very thick and heavy cables, able to lock the charger handle since I have my car charging on the driveway. The price is half the price of the similar charger offered by Ford and I was able to get the $100 off coupon which brought my purchase price to $350. Have to learn home charging, DV fast charging very quickly. Now I have to wait and see how long this charger will last. 9/15/22 I wanted another charger for my son’s garage which is already installed with 240v Nema 14-50 plug. I decided to have a more portable light weight charger and ended buying a Morec 40 amp level 2 charger, I had to return right away since it will stop charging my Mach-e -within 15 mins and showed charging error consistently. After returning I did ended up buying Autel 40 amps level-2 charger which has a heavy box and mounted plug down. I was not able to get 9.6 kw charging, instead charges at 9.3 kw this needed slightly longer time. It does have an app that works well, and a 3 year warranty which is a plus. Autel does not have the locking on charge handle to protect Compared to these two other chargers, Amproad iflow9 has very thick and heavy cable, 2 8 awg, 1 10 awg and 1 16 awg copper lines. I am buying another Amproad iflow9 today. ... show more

  • Great Product and Support
Size: 40 Amp
This charger checks all of the boxes for me. It works great as a travel charger with the option to use on a wide range of outlets using adapters. Because of the 90-250 voltage range input you can use a 110/120v outlet if that’s all that’s available. I’ve used it on 15, 30 and 50 amp outlets and it works perfectly. Just make sure to adjust the amp setting on the charger to 80% or below of the breaker rating. As others have stated the charger also includes 10 and 16 amp settings. The charger appears to be very robust and has a flexible, thick 25 ft charging cable. The display is not large, but it’s easily viewable and gives you plenty of useful information. The selection buttons are very responsive and user friendly. I emailed a few questions after purchasing and their support is great. Each of my questions was answered promptly and thoroughly. It’s nice to know that the folks that that sell a product understand how it works and can convey that to the customer. If it holds up over time, I’ll be a happy camper. ... show more

  • Compact Level 2 Charger
Size: 40 Amp
This is a very simple charger. The Wifi setting isn't very good since you have to connect your phone to the device and then open a web page on your browser to see some basic stats. Might as well not even be there. worthless. But as a charger is good. For the money you are getting 9.6kW, which is a lot if you didn't know. I've been using it for 3 months and no issues. I only had a 30amp dryer outlet to you use, so I bought an adapter to change it to the dryer plug outlet and no issues there. The cord is thick and shouldn't cause any excessive heat issues! Don't be turned off that this is a no name, Chinese brand, it's fine. It's basic and gets the job done! Bonus that the display on it it gives you some nice stats on the current charging session. ... show more

  • Struggled with this one
Size: 40 Amp
Honestly I can’t believe all the five star reviews that are out there for this product. This does not have a basic function, meaning you can’t time your charge. I emailed customer support several times about this and they never got back to me.

  • A great portable EVSE, but keep it out of direct sun
Size: 40 Amp
This EVSE is a great companion to have along when you need to have L2 charging on the go. I ordered it before making a quick one-day trip down to Lake Cumberland, to where we made a family trip. I was able to charge my car as well as my parents' car at the campgrounds in the state resort park. Most campgrounds feature NEMA 14-50 plugs, and thanks to this EVSE's 40A max charging and ability to tell the car to de-rate charge is a huge plus when you're not sure what kind of power supply you'll have available. I had ordered several adapter plugs just in case, but the campgrounds had the plug we needed right away. This device looks like it's been built around a simple 8266 or ESP32 dev board, as the WiFi connection interface reminds me exactly of an ESP32 server sketch in the ESP32's Arduino library - down to the IP address you use to connect. Not that this is an issue, it's reliable and works perfectly well. WiFi connectivity is not required to make this work, the capacitive buttons do their job and allow you to set charge rate. Note - this device doesn't actually alter the charge rate at all - it just tells your car the max current it can consume with its onboard charger. All EVSEs work this way. I did experience a downside to this device, however. It can't seem to handle a hot day under direct sun. After about an hour of charging, I noticed that charge rate had dropped from 9.5 kW to 1.7. The display indicated the EVSE's internal temperature was 76°C, which is very hot. Supply current was about 6A instead of 40. Clearly, it was de-rating itself to prevent overheating. This is a good thing, but the manufacturer should have made the case white to reflect the sunlight better and prevent unnecessary heating. I had to stop the charge, pour some water on it and shade it with some materials that we had along. After waiting a few minutes, I restarted the charge, and it picked right back up to a 40A supply current. I may yet spray paint it with a thin layer of white minus the display and capacitive buttons. It is also rather bulky. My car has a small storage space in the trunk for EVSEs or other components, but this one will likely not fit, whereas a dedicated L1 charger will, which I currently keep in that area. But, the bigger cord means negligible heating and more reliability, which is what you need. Other than the overheating and size, it's a great addition to a long road trip if you won't have DCFC nearby. Hopefully this will be a non-issue in the long run, but for now, this EVSE is essential to have along. ... show more
