I had one of these Tempur-Pedic pillows around 20-years ago and liked it, but switched to down pillows for some reason, and have been through many other types of pillows over the years. I have been waking up with neck pain and headaches for a long time. While the pillows I have feel comfortable when I go to sleep, they are not supportive while I sleep! Trying to save a few bucks, I ordered some other funky off-brand ergo pillow here, and it did not work for me. I ordered the medium Tempur-Pedic neck pillow, and it has done the trick! Neck is supported. No pain, no headaches. It just takes a minute or two when getting ready to sleep to get situated. I expect I will get that figured out. I'm just happy to wake up without my neck in knots! Before purchasing, I read many, many reviews. I saw a number of people complain that this pillow is "small". When you put it next to a standard pillow, yes, it is! But really, how much pillow does your head need? This pillow has plenty of room to lay on your back and turn side to side. I also saw people complaining about not being able to fit a regular pillowcase on it. Why? It has a comfortable washable, removable case. If it doesn't fit your decor, throw it in a closet during the day. Also yes, it is firm. But that is the point. The comfy mushy pillows won't support your neck. I highly recommend this pillow vs. the knockoffs. It keeps your neck more stable and supported while you sleep. ... show more

For the first week or so, this thing was hard as a brick!!! then it softed up. If you want to hasten this process, roll it up to compress it. But i think time still needs to do its thing to soften this thing up. Then it flattens and softens up and it's perfect now on my back. It used to be at the perfect height for side sleeping but not anymore. But i want to encourage msyelf to sleep on my back anyways because that's the best for you. This really isn't the best pillow for side sleeping because of the shape, but its the BEST for back sleeping. I think it's even better that it's perfect for back sleeping but doesn't work for side sleeping because it encourages me to sleep on my back, so my face doesn't get smooshed into the pillow and give me wrinkles and back problems. ... show more

    • No more sore neck in the morning

I've had neck discomfort sleeping for the last 3 years and have tried many pillows. I finally ordered the TEMPUR neck pillow recommended by my friend. She swears by it and and has used hers for many years. Based on my repeated measurements I ordered the medium size pillow. It wasn't comfortable, I returned it and ordered the smaller size. I should have paid more attention to the note...if in between sizes order smaller of the two. The smaller one fits just right, providing needed support to my neck and placing my head in a better position. It works for me both side and back sleeping so my nights are more restful. Before I got this I was switching pillows every time I moved from back to side sleeping at night. The pillow was very firm to start with. I followed suggestions I found online to break it in. I would stand on it and bend it a few times the first few days. Now it feels great. My friend was right, it is the only pillow I need. ... show more

    • It gets hot and might be too hard.

Support is great but I am getting too hot and feel tightness at the base of my neck after using it for a month. It is the start of summer and I'm used to being completely sleep deprived for the first week due to the sudden 15 degree temp increase. But since this pillow has such great support, it also gets hot. I'll switch to sleeping with no blankets and in my underwear this summer. It gets 4 stars. Neck is still much better but still a slight pain. Unsure if it's too hard or big. It could be due to the new eye masks. I had to move my bed into my room cause it's blackout dark and now I can sleep without squeezing my ears and neck trying to keep them on my eyes. I purchased this pillow a month and 10 days ago. The pillow isn't really comfy, but it says it's good for your neck so I figured will be some "getting used to" period, but month later still going through it. A month into it I decided to wash the outside cover and notice some black specs in between the sealed protective case and the foam, so I when to Amazon exchange/return and was directed to Tempur-Pedic website and 888 number, which I did. After days of emails back and forth they told me that because I purchased it from Amazon I have to get in touch with Amazon, and because Amazon is third party ( which I made sure to purchase from Tempur-Pedic store on Amazon) the 5 year warranty is voided. So now this emailing back and forth put me out of my exchange/return period and Amazon "can't do anything for me". This purchase left me very frustrated, disappointed and very confused as I did as directed. The misinformation about this store and their products is at every step of the way. It feel like when you tried to do something good for yourself ( "healthy/quality" pillow at a high price), you are been taking advantage of. ... show more
