I really don't know how to rate the weight of this hose. It's not heavy compared to some of my very old hoses, and then again, I wouldn't call it light weight. It seems just perfect for a 70+ yr old woman to drag around the yard. The lightweight ones seem to want to kink a lot, and so far this one doesn't. I did stretch it out in the sun before I started using it. I've been using it daily for 3 days (mornings and afternoons), and each day I love it more. It seems well made, but I won't really know until about 3 yrs from now. I am just so happy I found this one. I have plants scattered over 2 acres. This is going to make dragging a hose for sprinklers really easy. And may I mention again, I haven't had any problems with kinking. I had a couple of hoses that were supposed to lightweight and flexible...didn't take me but about about 2 seconds to decide to throw those away and quit wrestling with them. I hope this hose continues to be a winner in the future.! ... show more

I've owned many hoses and they aren't the same. Cheap ones leak, twist and kink; heavy duty ones are stiff and heavy to pull around. This is a great mid-range choice. The spiral construction does help avoid kinks - as you reel it in, it does a good job resetting itself to straight. Save yourself frustration by using good hose techniques for minimizing tight loops and harsh return angles. It was a treat to have a new and supple hose, esp when you take care to have leak-free connections. 5/8 inch delivers a nice volume of water too. Highly recommended! ... show more

So many hoses advertise themselves as "no kinks," "It will never kink," "kink resistant," and my personal favorite from a local garden supply store, "never kinks -- unless you like it that way!" Ever since I was a little child, kinks in the lawn hose have been the bane of my existence. With parents who loved yardwork,I was hands-in-dirt most of my life. Early this spring, I decided to test 5 brands of "won't kink" hoses to see which actually worked well. This was the only brand to pass all five of my less-than-scientific study. The test: 1) The hose must EASILY be placed into a nice circle when finished, and come up again without kinking. (YES!) 2) While unraveling the hose, I need to be able to walk in any direction in my hard, with various items in the way (a table, arbor, trees, pots, plants, etc), without kinking up on those, like so many hoses before had. (YES!) 3) The hose had to endure the spring and summer here in Utah without cracking and rotting. (YES) While I've only tested this for one such season, I am well impressed because of how well it held up compared to the others, and ones I've had in the past. 4) I need to be able to touch the hose, after it's been sitting in the hot sun all day, without receiving 3rd degree burns on my hand. (YES!) 5) The hose had to cost less than $50; I simply refuse to pay more than that for a hose. (YES!) Again, the NeverKink was the only 75-ft hose to pass all five of the tests this year. I am really excited to see how it does next year. I plan to purchase at least four more in the springtime. ... show more
