This is a great RC car that still falls into the toy category. Your kids will have lots of fun with it. Just keep in mind that the rear suspension is not really avoiding the heavy parts to get smashed, so no jumps or rough terrain, the rear suspension is there more like for the looks. We love this remote-controlled car! Works great and the kids really love using it. The battery life is long, much longer than some of the other ones we have had. The battery is rechargeable, and charging time is decent. You receive 2 batteries, so while you're using one, you can have the other one charging so you'll always have a battery available.
