    • Gets scalding hot, hose failed within hours, dials are cheap feeling
The water heater needs to be run on almost the lowest setting to avoid scalding water. At the lowest setting it raises water temperature from 72 to 110 degrees. A super small increase in the temperature dial and it’s 120 degrees. It’s very easy to get steaming water and 160 degree plus water, in summer mode with the temperature dial less than a 1/4 turned, even on accident. This unit arrived damaged, large chunk of paint missing from the top. The shower hose failed within 6 hours of usage (sprung a leak). The hi/low flow dial labeling doesn’t really make sense, since it seems to be labeled backwards/they could have used clearer word choice. The batteries fit very difficultly. There are retaining tabs which hold the batteries into the holder which prevent easy insertion or removal. The battery door has a cheap/poor fit, but it works. As there is no led when the batteries are working/turned on, it’s difficult to troubleshoot water flow issues vs batteries. The water flow is what activates the LED screen, not the batteries. The summer/winter dial is hard to turn and loose. Its challenging to get it turned from summer to winter or back because the dial wiggles and has high physical resistance. It seems to determine how many burners are lit. The most confusing part was although we were within the stated minimum water flow rate (just barely) the unit wouldn’t turn on. I ended up needing to buy a booster pump. It evidently uses the water flow to light up the temperature output screen. The heater gives off a lot of radiant heat. We can feel it from several feet away. However it also cools down to cool to the touch almost instantly, even on a cool summer day. We’re using LP tanks (grill sized 20lb) with this water heater. Each tank lasts a few hours at the lowest settings, but you’ll want to keep a spare tank, since it seems to go through gas fast. Instruction manual was difficult to follow and had errors. Luckily the install was straight forward (other than needing higher than expected flow rate to turn it on). Much like the dial on the heater with one drip of water being labeled “high” and the full stream of water being labeled “low”, or the battery cover being labeled on/off instead of open/close, the instructions seemed to be written in (poorly) translated English. ... show more

    • Keep at it. Manual not helpful.
Went to test this for the first time the day before a camping trip. Could not get it to work. Started to panic. The manual is horrible. Example: translation of 'hot water heater' became 'Geyser'. Eventually out of frustration I just started randomly adjusting knobs on the front. The unit suddenly started to work when the water control knob was adjusted to 'High'. After that, all was good. Now it is 'Old Faithful'. Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the terrible manual. ... show more

my husband installed this water heater. its wasn't hard. although it was ALOT of troubleshooting to get the heater to work properly as well as having to change a few faulty wires for the temperature control. afte fixing those issues. the heater works good enough for a family of 5 that includes 4 females that LOVE HOT WATER SHOWERS and 1 male lol. ... show more

    • You’re only getting a water heater
This water heater comes with the showerhead and attachments. I use this next to my spa. the first time I used it with the accompanying showerhead I noticed that the showerhead was beginning to separate into three pieces. I firmly screwed it back together, and it seemed strong enough so I shut it off . The water heater heated the water to 121°F. I casually laid the showerhead and hose over the edge of my hot tub and went about my business. Later that evening I walked out the back door and noticed hot water all over my patio. The showerhead and stop valve for the heater had blown apart and had been dumping 120° water into my backyard all day. I tried repairing the showerhead several times to no avail as it just continued to blow apart. When I contacted Amazon about this issue, I was told that a new showerhead would be forthcoming. I was told that this is the last person I would have to talk to. I was told that this person refused to let this be neglected in any way, and that they Would, “ For certain follow through on the replacement of the showerhead. “ That was toward the end of April, and I have heard not a word from the seller or Amazon since then. When I went back to inquire about my complaint, I was told that,” it was too late to complain. Sorry.” I purchased a new showerhead with a shut off for $40 . It was the least expensive one I could find. To this day, I have heard nothing from the seller, or Amazon, nor have I received a new shower head. Didn’t come with a vent kit which would have been nice. Your batteries have to be in the top 70% of life or it won’t even try to cut on. But mostly works as stated.
