The original tangle teaser is made of a softer plastic and works a little better, but this is vented…so it depends on what you’re looking for. The entire line is pretty good quality though!

I don't know why I hadn't tried this sooner. I have waist-length, thick, wavy hair that knots up like crazy. I would use a long tooth comb and literally rip my hair out, and just thought that was part of the price of having long hair. I watched a Youtube video where they used this brush and decided to give it a try. I literally don't even know what to say about it, it's so good! I'm so used to just ripping through my hair, and I have a tough scalp, so I initially pulled it through my hair like I normally do, and there was zero sharp pull or pain. I knew it was brushing through and felt it working on the knots, but it's so gentle. I always would have a huge knot of hair after combing it, and when I use the brush there's less than half of what I usually pull out. It's just amazing. I use it right before I wash my hair, and then use the wide tooth comb to pull product through my hair, and it's smooth as silk. If you're on the fence, jump! ... show more

As someone with real deep set 4C hair, this brush was really good at handling my curls. It detangled super easily. It is very lightweight and easy to hold. Not to mention, the color is cute.

Okay so I seriously never write reviews, but this brush deserves one. I bought this for myself, but as soon as I unpackaged it, my 3 cats were all over me. I brushed one of them, who has really thick hair and gets mats occasionally, for 45 minutes and you would not believe the amount of hair I got off of him. He looked like he was in heaven! I used it on all 3, and when I finally was able to try it out on myself, ( the hair comes right out of it and none stays stuck in the brush), I understood why they like it so much. It feels great on your scalp! The bristles are just the right amount of rigid enough so they penetrate through all your hair but it doesn't hurt your scalp. I'm going to be buying another one so I can have it to myself, but if you have pets, especially ones with thick hair, I would highly recommend this brush. You probably should get two!! ... show more

My hair type: fine, medium Some of the reviews seem to be misusing this brush. The vent in the brush is to quickly dry your hair. The bristle type is meant to detangle your wet hair. Always brush bottom up. I get less tugging and less hair loss. There is barely build up of dust or other materials. You can easily remove the strands that did come off as well. Brush is also ease of maintenance and care. This is the best brush for what it is meant for. If you want to style your hair, that's for another type of hair brush/comb. ... show more
