I’ve only used the product once so far, but am so excited to continue using it going forward! I let my hair air dry almost completely and used the Round Brush Blower on mildly damp hair. It worked beautifully and dried and straightened my hair within less than ten minutes. (I didn’t time it to precision but I know it was under ten.) I wasn’t going for extreme styling. I just wanted non-frizzy hair with some semblance of neatness. I used to have wavy hair with the occasional banana curl. It was bouncy and full. With hormone issues, it began slightly thinning over the years but still maintained its volume and bounce. Unfortunately, round IV of COVID left me with COVID Hair Loss. My hair thinned noticeably and lost its “life.” While it has begun to come back to life again, it’s still thinner than it used to be and has barely any wave and bounce now. (I still hope that may reverse with more time, but who knows.) I decided to straighten my hair in the healthiest manner possible, just to give it at least a minimal style and nicer look. I was in love with my Maxi Glide flat iron in college and a bit beyond, but the steam function broke years ago. I’m not very coordinated and using a hair dryer with a separate round brush works but is super annoying to use for me. After reading a billion reviews, I settled on the Revlon Salon One Step Dryer and Volumizer (Original Model) and I am glad that I did this far! It was so easy to use and worked like a charm. (Side Bar: I have small hands and was intimidated by the size of the handle when I opened the box. Don’t be! It was really comfortable to hold and manipulate!) With Garnier Sleek and Shine Anti-Frizz oil only on my ends, the Brush Blower left my hair soooo smooth and soft, frizz free and styled with a slight flip at the ends. And, again using on only damp hair, it was fast! When I showed my Husband in the other room he loved it and even commented that it was straight but still had body and that the product did not leave my hair too flat. Later that night I received multiple compliments from my family when we stopped by for a get-together, specifically on my hair. As I have said, it has only been one use and so I cannot speak to durability, but I really do love it and am so excited to keep using it. I purchased a case for it separately to protect the bristles from bending and damage. (I have no where to hang it for storage, so it will be shoved in a drawer and I want it to last.) Overall, I am super happy and recommend this product! 😁 ADDENDUM: Many people are noting that it gets super hot and is VERY Loud. Yes and Yes, BUT. So, the heat on High is very hot - haven’t tried Low yet). BUT, I shut off the blower and put it down to section out the next piece of hair I wanted to work on each time, and I also only went over each strip twice only , once on top and once on bottom and did not hold still on any spots. So, my hair did not overheat or even smell burnedish, like it used to with my hair blower. This manner of use may not be very good for the motor, with off and on back and forth, and I didn’t think of it at first. So, next time, I think I’ll switch it to cool when I put it down instead. It was so quick to use that I didn’t find the heat a problem at all. In fact, years ago I returned a newer hair blower because it didn’t get nearly as hot as my old one did and wound up sticking with old faithful instead. As to Noise! Yes, it is loud, but no louder than my 1992 hair blower is that I still use. The problem is the PITCH! It has a very high pitch and tinny note to it. My old hair blower is much lower in pitch and therein lies the difference! The Revlon Brush Blower basically sounds like a cheap stick vacuum that I used to have and got rid of specifically because of the noise, as I get migraines. Hubby gave me some of his foam in-the ear plugs to pop in when I am using the Brush Blower and it was fabulous. I would have suffered through because it works so great, but he is right. Over time the pitch of this thing would be no good for hearing health. So, I highly recommend grabbing some earplugs for yourself and to use them while drying and styling, just for hearing’s sake! 😉 ** NOTE: The attached picture is the next morning, after a night out with family and then sleeping on it. So, some of the volume is gone and the ends have lost their “flip,” but it’s still sleek and soft and frizz-free! YAY!! 🥳 ... show more

What a great brush! It gives me smooth waves and curls. Lightweight and easy to use. There are settings from cool to hot. The hot setting can get too hot for me. I usually go one step down. I let my hair air dry a bit before using or dry just the roots with a blow dryer. I very thick long hair. It makes drying go much more quickly. Great product! ... show more

This thing is amazing. Not difficult to figure out how to use, does most of the work for you. Honestly it's the best hair tool I've ever purchased, especially for the price. Best value on a hair tool FOR SURE - $35 is a fraction of what some of the more trendy brands are charging for a similar product. Doesn't suck hair into the intake, doesn't tangle. Finally found something that actually keeps me dried and styled. It isn't as good as a salon blowout unless I were to go the next step and use a flat iron, which I won't, so it will do just fine. All I have to do is brush it through my wet hair. That's it. And, voila, I have dry, smooth, straightened--TAMED--hair. I have very thick, coarse, wavy hair below the shoulders, and I usually let it air-dry, but then I look terrible, so then I scrape it back in a ponytail holder, looking neater and tidier but still not exactly polished. All because I don't have the skills, patience, or arm strength to use a paddle brush and blow dryer. The Volumizer Plus takes away one of those problems, well, really two, because I definitely don't need skill, and I need notably less arm strength than when using both a brush and dryer holding up both arms for what seems like infinity. It's still hefty, but it weighs less than my blow dryer, and it's well balanced, which helps more than I would have thought. The low setting is still fairly hot, but aside from its slightly lower temperature, it also lowers the air volume, so I kept it on medium to get through the job faster. I switched to "cool" the last few minutes, which was more like "ever so gently warm," probably because it was still cooling down. Hot was fire-hot and just didn't seem necessary, even on hair my thickness. And it truly dries my hair out straight and smooth. I still need the patience (took about 20 minutes, although didn't seem so long since my arm wasn't screaming for mercy), but that's another story. It's BIG--currently pondering where to store it--so I did go ahead and order a case for it, to protect those bristles when I inevitably wind up throwing it in an under-sink cabinet. ... show more
