This machine hits all the right notes -- compact, works perfect, stable, easy to use. It's honestly great. Assembly is kind of a pain in the butt (as is any exercise equipment of this size with this many parts). I will say this though -- for the love of God, do NOT try assembling this with the included wrenches. They're toddler sized and the thickness of a quarter -- you'll want to throw yourself off the roof. If you use a socket wrench you'll finish in half the time (3 hours is a good estimate), and you wont have baby wrench dig marks in your palms. I'm serious, get a socket wrench unless you're a masochist. ... show more

This Smith machine works as well and is as smooth as any expensive Gym machine, has a very small footprint, is not too tall, and is worth every penny it cost. The bench is of lower quality, but very functional. Easy to assemble. A must buy for a home gym.

USE WD-40 not that BS oil they give you. Or else the guide will keep sticking. Pretty easy to put together. Wish for $400 it was a little more sturdy but all in all its pretty decent. U will always occasionally have to keep spraying it with WD-40

This was a dream come true that I did not know could be a reality. I've paid for different memberships for years and did not know I could actually have a Smith Machine in my house. The machine is time consuming to put together, black and white pic instructions helps a ton. I would advise getting a rachet set (14mm/15mm socket helps) and a pair of pliers. The tops screws where pull up bar attachment, I could not get to fit. The screw and nut don't fit in the well at all. I would also recommend you get a friend to work on the opposite side Know that the rails have some slickness to it, but as you handle putting it together it will dry up. I went to NAPA got a can of Silicon Gel, sprayed the rails, inside the housing, and it works just fine. Know that is light and when I first used it, I was benching and dang near picked up the whole Smith Machine with the force I pushed with. Again, great machine for all the workouts I do. ... show more

I was looking for a Smith Machine that I could fit in my garage because I usually work out by myself. I have a gym membership but I find it less time consuming to just go in my garage and workout. This machine did the trick along with the tower I purchase last year from another company. It takes up minimal real estate and I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a foldable bench. I didn't pay attention to the listing when I ordered it that a bench was included. I had a bench that I was going to use but this one folds up and can be placed out of the way. Be sure to get a silicone lubricant to spray the rails because it doesn't slide well without out some lube. When I assembled it, I was a little worried about the functionality but once I sprayed it with some lube, it works great! Ideally if you can bolt it down to the floor, it will keep it from moving but some spare weights on the rear weight holders keeps it pretty steady. I recommend this if your looking for a Smith Machine with a smaller budget and a smaller space to put it in. ... show more

    • A smith machine is supposed to be smooth. This hardly moves!
The barbell doesn't glide smoothly at all. I didn't notice it before, but other Smith Machines have cylinder/round glide rods. This one has cube/square glide rods and they constantly catch—terrible design. You can't even use it. Even with the eye drop size lube included, it’s still catches due to the shape of the glide pole and bushing. It’s mostly sturdy and can be bolted down. I wasted 2 hours assembling it and will waste another half hour taking it down for a return. ... show more
