  • Good value
Very happy with this product the Truck Works super well I love the refillable pens, would definitely recommend if you are working with clothes sewing Etc. The chalk is a little fragile but what chalk isn't. I primarily use the chalk when working with fabric and it goes on so smooth yet easily removable. ... show more

  • Great little starter set for the sewing hobbyist.
What a great fabric marking set! It is everything you need for marking fabric for sewing projects. The tailor's chalk has 10 pieces - 2 red and yellow and 3 blue and white - and are well made (no crumbling or flaking). They wash out of fabric with the first wash. The marking pens are my favorite and come with an extra refill for each color (red, blue, white and black) but, be aware, the white ink will not show up on the fabric until it is dry. So, don't freak out if you mark your fabric with it and don't see anything immediately. Give it a few seconds to dry. These pens are are "heat erase". So, don't be surprised if the mark is gone after you press your fabric. The small fabric pencils are okay. Not going to lie, the material used for marking is a bit hard and, although it will leave color behind, the marks tend to be very faint. I tried "softening" the tip with a flame (the way you might with eyeliner) and it worked for a mark or two, but the pencil would have to be softened again for the next mark. I opted to just use those to mark my patterns instead. All in all, this is good purchase for the price since you get several different types of fabric marking tools for your money. This is a good "starting set" for the new sewing hobbyist. It covers all the bases and won't break the bank doing it. ... show more

  • Absolute necessity to sewing
I have used different types of pen/pencil, chalk, or whatever to mark the spot. I have finally decided to take the plunge and get the tailor chalk. Quick delivery. I was floored when I got the package and opened the box. Very nice presentation. I opened the little box and very nicely placed are chalks, which are so big and such pretty colors. I have been using the colors that show clearly on my materials. I like how the chalk is soft enough to mark yet hard as not to make a mess of the hand. Perfectly placed in the box are different colors of pen and pencils, sharpener included. I highly doubt this one. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
The product pens work as promised. They disappear when ironed. Two of the pen holders were faulty and ink fillers could not be installed. There are 4 colors but now only two holders so the inserts must be switched out if you need a different color. The openings were basically sealed shut in two of the holders. The chalk was chipped and edges rough and irregular so straight lines are difficult. Usable but not professional quality. ... show more

  • Sometimes there’s a quirk but it’s all 😌 good
The media could not be loaded. The value for the money is outstanding. Yes, I would order again. Lots of reviews are already here so I will respect your time and upload a video of the white writing pen on brown leather. The pen worked as described. The Taylor’s chalk is worth the money. The other tool that I liked is the removable plastic brush tip on the pencils. I can reuse the brush tips on other pencils. Now for the part that I didn’t like: The white pen refill review: The white refill did not insert into the white pen case properly. The red case worked great. I had to melt the tip of the white case then slide the pen into the case so that the case would grip the refill. The silver tip never allowed the refill to extend far enough to draw a line. I removed one star but added it back because it’s a gray value. The next time I would be sure the pens and refills worked properly before starting a project. To solve the problem in the future, I would cut away 2mm off the plastic screw-on-end of the pen case where the silver tip fit. For the price - this quirk is easily acceptable. You may not have this issue. I liked that the white ink easily wiped off leather with water. This is a great feature for leather especially when crafters are beginning purse making or leather working where they are using fabric and leather in their design. I hope you found this review helpful as you decide which kit to purchase. I would recommend this kit to friends and family. ... show more
