I absolutely love this thing! It works beautifully for me. I read some complain that it is cheaply made and breaks easily. Anything can break if you try to force it to do something it’s made not to do. Took me a while to figure out how to bend and adjust the right way. Once I did that, I can’t believe how great this thing is. The only concern I had was the clamp that attaches to headboard. My headboard is wood and thick. But once I attached it, it worked great. In the year+ I've had this, my tablets have never slipped out of the holding mechanism, unless you accidentally bump into it. That being said, it has a tendency to creep downwards over time unless you crank the tightening bolt with significant force. I have good pinch strength in my fingers and have loosened nuts that most other people need a tool for with my bare hand, and it hurts my fingers sometimes to tighten and loosen the bolt that locks the position of the boom mechanism. It needs an easy squeeze design to release and grip the position-lock mechanism. Something other than the friction of a bolt against smooth metal. ... show more

… and that’s exactly why I got this is because it was made sturdy with metal and metal screws and metal springs it’s made for a tablet and yet the weight of the tablet pulls it down and you cannot adjust the ball joint right behind the class to hold it at a viewing angle that is comfortable for you and that’s exactly why I got it so be warned. It doesn’t actually hold the weight of a iPad Pro 12.9 inch and that’s what fits in it and it says it’s for that big of a tablet so I don’t know. I definitely got it so I could watch movies and TV in bed I have , a leg that is not working right and hasn’t been for a couple of years now. So one trip to the store and I’m down for a couple hours or the rest of the night and it makes me angry so I wanted something that would make my life more enjoyable when I’m , trying to rejuvenate that leg that is not at its best anymore. You can try it but you’ll end up wanting to send it back. I’m keeping it because I find that if I put a hair scrunchie up there on that top crank, I can pull it down and put it around the one of the clasps and it’ll keep it upright so you can view. Laying flat on my back (which is better for my neck and why I got it) is great. This allows me to use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to control the phone. I just wish they made a heavy duty one with a VESA mount that I could put next to it to hook up an actual monitor, but I'll take what I can get.

I used to have a gooseneck holder for when I read in bed, but after 2yrs it got worn out and wouldn't stay up anymore. So when I went searching for a new adjustable holder, I was excited for this one since it's all metal with springs. The main clamp fit over my thick headboard and I was able to screw it on tightly. The arms also have knobs that can be tightened to better secure the angle you'd like, which I appreciated. My iPad fits snuggly into the end clamp - I used to have the gooseneck holder clamp onto the sides of my iPad, but this one is too large for that so it clamps onto the top and bottom of my iPad. There are holes on the clamps that allow me to still charge my iPad even while it's behind held. I haven't tried it with my iPad case on, but that might work if you don't like to constantly switch between having a case on and not. Besides the part that clamps onto my headboard and the part that holds my iPad, everything else was assembled when it arrived in the box (thank the gods), so I didn't struggle with any screws or whatnot. I would say this would be a great holder to take on trips if you want it, since it can be folded down to it's original shape and taken apart very easily to store in a bag. Keep in mind that once you tighten the bolts, there is no give, so if you need to adjust it and/or move it when you're done, you'll need to loosen the bolts to do so, otherwise you might wear out the sturdiness of it by using brute force. Overall, I'm thankful I found this product and am excited to read in bed comfortably again. I got this through Prime overnight, so I did not have to wait long at all. Disclaimer: sorry if I misuse the words clamps or bolts, I don't know the technical terms for the pieces I am adjusting to place the product how I want it. ... show more

Mounted this on the headboard above where I sleep. One thing I don’t like is the bolt is actually quite large and it has to face the bed side (based on how the arm works) so you should be careful of it’s placement and just for a while mind your head when you get in and out of bed. Also one thing I don’t like is the arm moves whenever you try to tap on the screen so the experience is a bit jarring when you’re trying to interact with YouTube let’s say, while watching. Lastly one thing I did like was the system can be adjusted such that when the iPad is mounted, its weight keeps it in the viewing position and when you remove the ipad, the spring action makes it easy to push the arm away. It didn’t seem like a good idea having arm just hovering over my head while I’m sleeping so I tend to remove the ipad and push the arm up. Also with some adjustment to the knob at the base you can rotate it out of the way as well. ... show more
