  • Swamp Fox red dot
Nice fit and profile on my Springfield Hellcat. Clear sight picture and easy to pick up the dot. Exceptional value for the price range.

  • wakes quickly and the auto adjust is a nice feature
after setting up and getting it dialed in had fairly consistent 1.5-2" groupings at 7 yds. & 3-4" groupings at 25 yds. with my springfield hellcat and that's pretty good for my skill level. I do like the shake and wake feature.. the dot was visible very quickly, and adjusted well in bright sun light as well as in shade. still holding target and working well after several hundred rounds. absolutely would recommend. ... show more

  • Works with Springfield Hellcat Pro
I mention the Hellcat Pro because the gunsmith installing it for me at first didn't think it would fit the Pro model. It fits well, looks great and seems easy to acquire the red dot. The packaging was nice and complete - they included 2 screw sets in case you needed different ones for your application. I haven't really had a chance to test accuracy but it was bore sighted for 10 meters. I have concerns over battery life and changing the battery by taking it off the gun. Too, I don't understand their warranty of 50,000 rounds although I doubt I'll ever reach that number. I ordered the Shield SMSc from Springfield but they took too long so I stuck with this sight. I hope I didn't make a mistake but so far, so good. ... show more

  • Don't get the auto brightness
I was excited for the sentinel-a, auto brightness and it was the worst RDO I'd ever used. I returned it. I was just going to get the plate for my hellcat pro (Springfield tards) can't make a dang normal footprint, and get the Holosun 407k rmsc but I thought I'd try the manual sentinel shake awake. It was much better. The glass on the swampfox could be better, it catches a glare and the emmiter is a little fuzzy but overall it seems to work well. I'll update as I go. The auto was a disaster though. I run the tlr7 sub and in no light/ low light or intense bright light the sensor emmiter sucked. There was either visible dot, especially when I used the pistol mounted light or outside in bright light it was just a blob of red over doing it. Definitely don't have the Auto dialed in. The manual has been good so far and I can keep my co-witness. Overall I give the sentinel-m a 4, generously I trust it so far. Will update after 1k rounds. ... show more

  • Sig P365X
Excellent sight that is easy to mount, always on, almost perfect zero just a slight adjustment. Comes with a rubber cover that I will lose and an adjustment screw too also. Very pleased and would recommend.

  • Really Helps Novice Shooters
Read a lot about red dots and wasn't sure it was going help novice shooters like me and the wife but it did. Part of the reasoning for going with the Sentinel was it fit on my wife's Glock 43X mos with no slide modifications or adapter plates that would make sit higher on the slide. Installed it myself which was dead simple and went to the range and got it zero'd in. After a few tips from the range guys on site acquisition to bring the dot into view, adjusting our trigger pulls and grip, we were able to hit a 6 inch circle from 15 yards pretty consistently where before we were all over the place at 7 yards. One disclaimer.... If you have bad shooting habits like we did, this won't solve those issues but it does remove the need to line up your front and back sites taking one of the variables off your plate. ... show more

  • Optic inoperable in lowlight
I would have ranked this optic a 5 star optic, but there is a MAJOR design flaw in it. In order to save battery, Swampfox states "In very low light conditions Sentinel-A’s dot will become very difficult or impossible to see." I agree with their assessment, I cannot pickup the dot at all in low light settings. Settings where there is ambient lighting even rendure the dot useless. I reached out to Swampfox to see if they'd switch the optic for the manual. They haven't responded to that yet, so opinion may change, but addressing this particular red dot they stated "But what about those super low light situations? Our opinion is, if it is too dark to pick up the dot, it is also likely too dark to take a legally justified self-defense shot." Seems like a cop out for an optic that's only usable 50% of the time. It's a shame Swampfox, I would have been a repeat customer. I'd steer clear from the auto optic. ... show more

  • Great sight for the money. USA
Haven't mounted the sight yet, waiting for my slide to arrive. On first impression it seems like a solid optic. Clear lens and bright dot. I also bought the safety cage for it which looks pretty tough. I'll update once it is mounted and tested at zero.
