I just received this item. Looks brand new, minimal wear on the pivot joint for the magnifier. Easy installation with toggle levers. 2 tools provided to adjust tension so you can adjust the toggle levers to fit tight and still be able to open it. Once adjusted, it fits tight with no wobble. Adjustable brightness is great for various lighting conditions. Magnification looks clear, and I like the provided elastic cover. From use with previous dot sights (5 moa) I thought I had an astigmatism. Maybe I do, but if so, this sight minimizes the starburst effect and would be completely usable. This combo is simply fantastic. Starting with the magnifier, it seems very durable, mounts with QD, gives good 3x magnification and folds out of the way (and stays out of the way) until you need it. The dot itself is built like a tank. Has auto off, shake to wake, an extremely crisp dot with excellent glass and an awesome solar back up feature in case the battery dies. At first I thought I received an used item because the battery was alredy installed and saw what I thought was a defect on the lens. I had started a return and decided to buy one in person at a local store. It turns out though after looking at one at the store. The pre-installed battery is apparently normal on this holosun model and the ones at the store came the same way. So I decided to keep it. Also, the glare I thought I could see was only because I was indoors and looking too close into lens...once outside and mounted, the sight looks great with a perfect red dot or reticle and there is no glare. Crystal clear reticle, and great little magnifier. Seems super rugged, but I won't pretend I'm in the trenches. Maybe the EOTech can go deeper in water (never gonna use), or the battery last longer (Holosun seems incredible with the little solar panel and shake awake btw), but for someone who just enjoys shooting and being prepared This is the way to go. I have both of these units (Holosun and EO) on identical rifles and I reach for this one every time. Not saying the EOTech isn't a good product, but for less than half the cost, grab this one. Only drawback is this unit is made in China (still a super high quality product) I'm big on supporting USA but come on, at least be competitive on price. ... show more

I've owned EoTech sights and the Holosun 510 is just as good in terms of performance, features, and quality. The Magnifier is excellent, but the eye relief is not sufficient for my Marlin 336. With the magnifier installed as far back on the receiver as possible, it needs an additional 1 to 2 inches of eye relief to accommodate a comfortable cheek weld. ... show more

Build quality is high for price point. Easy installation and warranty registration. Time will tell for longevity, if I run into any issues, I plan to update. Did a lot of research before buying!
