This works great and charges similar to my original from Microsoft. The only difference is the feel of the magnet, the magnet doesn't give the same haptic response so I was less confident the first few times that it was connected, but it is very secure and I haven't had any problems with it staying connected. ... show more

Works exactly as intended, I actually prefer this to the charger I got with my surface. Its slimmer and packs better. I had to replace the stock one that my lovely kitten decided she wanted to snack on. She cute, she's lucky this isn't super expensive to replace!     • Better form factor than OEM charger, BUT......
The slim design and power light are a real plus over the OEM charger, yes, it is longer and wider, but I've always found it easier to fit slim things when I pack. The "BUT" for me is that the OEM has a flexible strain relief where the cord to the Surface Pro comes out of the charger, he hard plastic on this will be a strain point and could lead to internal damage and it is not replaceable. Also, why is the plastic block for the wall plug larger than the OEM? Both are smooth blocks that should indents to facilitate removing the plug from the outlet, as it is both encourage the dangerous pulling the plug out by grabbing the cord. NEVER do that. As I have just recieved the unit, I can't speak to longevity, however, so far I am happy with the purchase. ... show more

    • It worked for a few months then died
***Edit*** SOURNOVA quickly reached out to me after my review and apologized and offered an immediate replacement despite out of the return window. I appreciated it, but declined because I was worried that the same thing may happen again. I wasn't expecting a refund, but SOURNOVA offered to refund my purchase - I accepted. I didn't change my rating on the charger/product, but I would like to point out that SOURNOVA's customer service is top notch!!! It worked well for a few months. I liked it because it is slimmer than the other chargers and great for the price and for traveling. However, it died after about 5 months of use and I am out of the return window. To be specific, it fried the connections to the Surface - the plastic around the metal connectors melted. Because of that, it would overheat my Surface and created all kinds of problems. I immediately stopped using it and luckily had a backup charger of another brand that worked flawless. Not sure what this charger was doing to my device - maybe overcharging? I examined the magnetic charger and it was fried and burnt looking. I inspected my port on the Surface and it was fine (luckily) but not sure what it may have done to my device or battery. Save your money and look for a different product. Additionally, there are now chargers with USBC (instead of A) so you can charge other newer devices with your Surface at the same time. ... show more

The first charger I received kept my PC 100% charged but caused my MS Surface Pro 8 to send a low charging message. I was satisfied because it provided a 100% charge, and I liked the thin design, and it packs well in my backpack for traveling. The vendor, reading my review soon contacted me via email and advising me that they were going to send me a replacement charger ASAP and they did not expect an edit to my review. A few days later I received the new charger works perfectly. The vendor initiated contact with me quickly and replaced this item without being asked to do so. I believe this speaks volumes for their proactive custom service and would recommend them to any buyer based on my positive experience. ... show more
