SuperMoss Orchid and Nursery Sphagnum Moss is a premium grade, long fiber and long-lasting sphagnum. Its long fibers and superior water retention properties make it ideal for lining hanging baskets and using as soil cover in window boxes and house plants. Sphagnum helps you take the guesswork out of watering your garden plants by absorbing up to 18 times its weight in water. Sphagnum provides water to the roots according to the plant's needs, while allowing for optimum oxygenation so that the roots can uptake vital micronutrients. It makes for an excellent soil conditioner or top layer on potted plants like Orchids! Use Nursery Sphagnum when transplanting, aerating soil, conditioning, or just dressing up any potted plant! I have purchased a couple different brands of moss off amazon. This one has the least amount of non moss debris out of any I have tried. There obviously will be some, but it is minimal. I love the thickness off this moss and how it’s more like moss strands as opposed to moss shreds. I have filled up two 24 inch moss poles so far and still have about two thirds of the bale left. Many other mentioned being surprised by the size of the MINI bail but they must not have purchased this kind of moss before. It is more expensive for less product than you’d expect. I’m super happy with this moss. It’s good quality at a great price point and it’s so much better than the moss sold at Home Depot and other big box stores. It’s clean and has minimal twigs which can easily be removed, as opposed to store bought which is full of leaves, twigs, and other junk. It expands a lot and is perfect for moss poles and potting plants. I used it for the first time today to repot my new Cyrtosperma Macrotum and Monstera Thai Constellation so I haven’t had time to see how the plants grow but I’m confident they will do well in this moss. If I have any issues I will update this review but so far I’m very happy. I spent a lot of time searching Amazon, reading reviews, looking for a good quality moss for a reasonable price and this will definitely be a repeat purchase for me. I’m satisfied with this product. Idk too much about spag but the pack seemed clean and had no strong scent. Absorption is great and have gave me no issues thus far.

I've had enough of the half filled bags and thin, scrawny strands of sphagnum that is sold at all the stors near me. I swear, like half of the bag is always some sort of twig or straw. This stuff, however, is luscious and absorbent, all of my plants love it. I even used it for a moss pole, it worked wonderfully. I love spag. I mix it with perlite to give my young plants drainage as well as moisture. Works great with Anthuriums who like to stay moist (not wet). I have tried tree fern moss. It's ok, but expensive and just doesn't hold moisture like spag moss does.
