My John Deere E130 grass bagger consistently got clogged so I switched to mulching all the time. However, prepping for winter requires a low cut with plenty of clippings and bagging was inevitable. Until I found this Agri Fab sweeper that is! Sure, assembly takes a while but it is straightforward. This product is phenomenal and its benefits far outweighs the cost. One single session of winter prep (ie low cut clippings; dethatched clippings; pine needles) and it payed for itself! And yes, it picks up pine needles, with ease. You do need to feel comfortable operating at speed so that it picks up. Storage capacity is great. You wouldn’t want a much larger size for residential use as it can start to weigh a lot which makes dumping harder. Instead you simply pull an iron arm while slowly moving forward and it dumps it all for you. Doesn’t get any easier than that. I write this long review because this product literally changed my yard toolbox and I was for so long looking for a solution like it. You can’t go wrong. ... show more

This product worked great! I read a lot of other reviews and experienced none of the issues that others have mentioned. Shipping: Some reviewers gave low marks for damage on arrival, but in my opinion that is not a product review. That really depends on who is handling your shipment. Mine arrived in great shape and I had it built within 45 mins. I have never had issues with Amazon and with a 3 year warranty (which by the way is plenty considering it would cost more than $300 over three years to have someone else do the work of this attachment), any damage should without question be covered by the manufacturer. Headache to return and resolve yes, but nothing is perfect, even for $300. Assembly: This is the second Agri-Fab product I have built. I am not a fan of the picture only instructions as it is a bit difficult to clearly see the orientation of the parts, but this in no way was a big headache. In fact, I love that this product assembled entirely with clevis pins as it makes it easy to correct a mistake and easy to disassemble for compact storage. If your somewhat mechanically inclined and have built things around your house like furniture, kids toys, etc., this should be no problem. I had it together in less than 45 mins. Use: The adjustable tow pin is great and made it very easy to hook up to my mower without worry about my zero turn not having the correct tow height. It tows easily until it gets full, at which point my zero turn had some difficulty with traction. In hind site, I probably should have purchased the smaller version, because I didn't realize just how much grass this unit would hold (used it to cleanup the thatch on 3/4 acre after using the Agri-Fab 45-0295 48-Inch Tine Tow Dethatcher). It was very heavy and full and seemed to have no issue holding itself up under the weight. Probably better to use this with a garden tractor, but I use what I have. I think this will do quite well to help me sweep up large piles of mulched leaves in the fall that tend to clog and kill my grass. Some reviewers noted that the bag it self started to wear out very quickly. It seems like Agri-Fab listened to the customers and upgraded the product. The bag now includes a flexible plastic bottom that wraps up about 3-4 inches on the frame, so I don't see any worry about the bag chaffing and ripping. Also, as long as the tow pin is set to the right height, there should be no issue with the unit bag dragging on the ground. Looks like the orange colored units are the new models, so I would stick with those to make sure you have all the latest features and engineering upgrades. Overall: I am not very good at remembering to take pictures, but when my job was all said and done, I had 7 HUGE piles of grass and a nicely scraped and swept lawn for overseeding.     • Great product, poor factory assembly and packaging.

This review does not speak to the longevity as I have only had this for just under 2 weeks. It was received quickly with no damage to the box from shipping, yet when I pulled it all out of the box to begin assembly the external arm on the left that adjusts the height was bent out noticeably, enough that the catch spring pin that locks it into its set height position would not catch. So before I could even begin assembly I had to disassemble the item almost completely in order to remove the piece and straighten it out. None of the parts bags were ripped, yet before I got started I opened the bags on my table to make sure all of the parts and quantities were there and I was missing 2 hair pin cotter pins (R-clip cotter pins) and one lock nut. Thankfully I have some spare parts bins in my garage and was able to grab spares to complete the assembly. It went together quickly and very easily once all other issues were fixed. It took me 1.5 hours to assemble, but that includes having to strip it to fix the height bar and then reassemble as well as sort through my spare parts bins to find parts to replace the missing pieces. If everything had been proper right out of the box this would take less than 30 minutes to assemble. USE: It works very, very well. I have used it twice now. Birch leaves, birch branches, spruce needles, spruce cones, dried dog doo, small stones, you name it, it picks it up first pass! It did take about 10 minutes of messing around with the height adjustment (its very easy to do) as well as speed to drive at until I found the 'sweet spot' but now that I have it set and know the speed to go I only need to do one pass. The only thing I am not 100% about is it does throw some of the lighter leaves (dried birch leaves for example) over the top of the bag. I am not sure if I were to put a little ramp on the underside of the top at the edge to force the leaves down more, or if I should just try to extend the top of the leaf bag down further towards the metal top by using nylon door screen, would work. I'll ponder it some more first. I find if I slowed down enough that the light birch leaves don't fly over the top / back of the bag then the sweeper wouldn't pick up the heavier stuff like the birch branches or dog doo. I also have this offset slightly so that its edge is on the same line as my mower deck so I can sweep the leaves right to about 4" from the fence or house. Emptying this is almost too easy, even full of leaves I just reached back, grabbed the handle while still seated on my lawn tractor pulled it towards me, it took very minimal effort to dump. The pivot point is perfectly placed. I just pulled the bag completely upside down and drove forwards then set it back and parked it back in my garage. The bag also detaches with two quick spring clips and the bag folds to only about 6" deep, so minimal room is wasted in my garage. Bottom line: Great product (almost perfect), but very poor care in factory assembly and packaging detail. ... show more
