  • Easy to set up
Size: L22 PLUS
Great tool

  • Crazy how quiet it is
Size: L22
The media could not be loaded. The short version: Sunseeker L22 is reliable, seems to be built well, and operates extremely quietly. Those who envision a perfectly manicured lawn may be disappointed in its completely random mowing pattern. Set up was generally simple with the exception of installing the boundary wire. The instructions say to stake it every 3 feet on top of the ground, however we chose to bury the wire. My husband used a pick axe to trench a 2" deep path around the yard. This made it look better than having the wire on top of the ground but it was a time consuming job, nearly 6 hours for our 1/5 acre yard. But, this allows us to use our riding mower if necessary without fear of cutting the wire. Otherwise, setting up the mower and the interface with the app was very easy. You do have to make sure you have 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. After using it for over a month, here are some observations: If you like your lawn striped like a baseball field or want it perfectly manicured, this probably isn't for you. That's because the mower uses random patterns and doesn't mow a specific section to completion. It takes about 16 hours to complete our yard, so in that process there are small patches here and there which have slightly longer grass. Our mowing schedule is 4 hours per day, 4 days a week. I wish I could make it complete an area in the front of the house before moving on to the side and back yards but it wanders all over. Although it isn't a major height difference, these patches are noticeable. It took about 4 weeks of mowing for it to map our yard. Once the yard is mapped in the app, there are starting points that you are able to change the percentage on, however the instructions for doing this are not very clear. Currently experimenting with this to see what effect changing those percentages has. My husband did use the in-app feature to contact customer support. He mentioned that he liked that he was able to attach photos. It took nearly a week but he did receive a response and all of his concerns were addressed. His main concern was that the rain delay sensors appeared to not be working properly, but since contacting support the issue seems to be resolved. The mower runs for about 2.5-3 hours and then when it gets to 25%-30% charge it will return back to the charging station. We found it works well to run for about 2 hours, return to charge, then run another 2 hours on the days we have it mow. It has been extremely reliable and has only had to be rescued in the yard twice-one time because it caught a large twig, the other time it was unclear what caused it. For the most part, it avoids obstacles but our yard is surrounded by trees and after a storm we had a lot of twigs blown down. My husband does have concerns about how it will handle the leaves in the fall. The blades are small but easy to change and inexpensive. With all that said, the obvious benefit to this mower is the time it saves in the long run. We will still need to do some trim work, but we would have needed to do that anyway. Mowing our lawn with the riding mower wasn't a long job, but our schedules left us only weekends free, and then if it rained the yard was looking pretty wild by the next weekend. The Sunseeker really can be set to mow any time of day or night, it is so quiet that it operates in near stealth mode. ... show more

  • Difficult to set up
Size: L22
The robotic lawn mower is an interesting concept, similar to a Roomba but for your yard. While it offers the convenience of automated lawn care, the setup process is quite involved, requiring you to lay down a border much like an electric fence for dogs. Unfortunately, I haven't been impressed with its performance, especially given the cost. The effort required for setup and the high price tag may not justify the benefits, making it a less favorable option for those looking for an efficient and hassle-free lawn care solution. ... show more

  • Decent but with some major drawbacks.
Size: L22
For the most part I found that the Sunseeker worked as advertised.. to an extent.. but I wish I would've understood it's limitations before ordering. I have a yard that is divided down the center by a cement walkway. The mower is capable of driving over the walkway but unfortunately in order to use the Sunseeker I needed to run the guide wire over the walkway which is unsightly and not ideal in any way and presents a tripping hazard. While I don't have very large yard, my lawn wraps around my entire home so I needed to run the guide wire through a narrow gate opening which I struggled with. I also have to make sure the gate is open before the mower runs in order to get the full coverage which is a pain as the gate is left closed for security purposes and I not comfortable having it open when I'm not home. In addition, the guide wire was frustratingly difficult to set up and took several hours between the initial installation and all the adjustments I needed to make. I also have two large trees in my front yard and I had to run the guide wire pretty far away from them so the mower didn't get stuck on some of the roots sticking out of the ground. I was also under the impression that the mower would create a map for itself on the first mow and follow a pattern on all future mowing jobs but it seems to just drive around in a random order. Add on top of the fact that the cutting area is very narrow and it makes for a very inefficient mower. Bottom line for me is that it really not worth it. I really wanted to like the Sunseeker but it has been a disappointment. Between all the time needed having to go back with a weed wacker to clean up all the spots it can't reach around the edges of the yard and trees, remembering to open and close the gate etc.. the amount of time it "saves" me is negligible at best. I can just pull out my push mower and be done in 15-20 minutes instead. On the plus side I found the app pretty simple to use and I like that I can just spray it with a hose to clean it up. It's also very quiet for a mower which is nice. The Sunseeker may work well for you if you have a very basic, square or rectangle shaped yard with out any major obstacles like, walkways, trees, gate etc.. but for me it's really not worth it. ... show more

  • Product is unusable without compelled spy app install and registration
Size: L22
I feel it is unethical to ship a product that is unusable without installing a privacy invading app. There is no way to disable the sonar without the app, and the mower can't be used in tall grass, or grass with weeds, with the sonar enabled. The app forces you to give up your email, your location, data in your google account, and other data collected in the background. This is just plain bad. Companies need to to respect customers and stop spying on them. It doesn't matter if the mower mows well or not, this issue makes the product bad. ... show more
