  • Silent after greasing bearings and cleaning the wheels and wheel tracks
Style: Standing and Sitting
It was silent at first, but developed a squeak. We slightly disassembled it and greased the bearings, but honestly I think cleaning the wheels and wheel tracks very well is what helped the most and it is silent again. I added a speed sensor (inexpensive here on Amazon) and attached it to one of the pedal arms and now it synchs to my sports and fitness tracking watch and app. This combo cost FAR, far less than competitive products with the connection option built in. I only used the built-in display a couple of times to calibrate the sensor stride distance. I keep the resistance in the upper-middle range and my pace about 7mph and I easily keep my heart rate up in the easy aerobic range without sweating or breathing hard. You could get more vigorous exercise, as I have maxed out my recommended heart rate and gotten very sweaty and out of breath, but it isn't my favorite for that as the motion is rather short. Really that's probably not what this is designed for. It is better for a distance jog than a sprint, in my opinion. The machine held up fine for some pretty hard sprints, but not my body - while a slower pace seems very gentle on the joints, the sprints weren't. (Sprints might be OK for shorter people but the stride length isn't ideal for sprints if you're taller, like our family.) I only end up using it during meetings mostly, not while I'm coding or doing other creative work. But still in just a few months I have gone over 300 miles while working at my desk already, and no one knows I am using it. Desk height and knee-clearance could be an issue for some, but it is working for me with my usual chair-height setting. (I can make it a problem if I max out my chair-height, but I don't usually sit that way.) You could easily move it around the house or office, but 99% of the time it stays under my desk. I might consider moving it for a movie marathon or series binge session, but we don't do that very often. It seems very well-built, and I don't anticipate any problems but I have only had it a few months. I'd highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great for small spaces!
Style: Standing and Sitting
Updated 2/25/2021 Ended up returning the elliptical not because there's anything wrong with it but because there's something wrong with me! I have bad ankles and this elliptical made them hurt. My guess is that it's because of the small stride because a full size elliptical never bothered my ankles. Re-boxing and returning the item was easy. My refund was issued as soon as I dropped it off at the drop off location. Original Review Have had this product for one week now and this is my review of it at this point. Will update if anything changes. I purchased this particular elliptical because I live in a tiny basement apartment, about 300 sq ft, and have no room for a full size elliptical. This one fits nicely in the space next to my dresser. The video in the ad shows the woman effortlessly putting this elliptical on a shelf. This unit weighs 25 lbs. I can lug it around but not carry it around easily. I suggest lifting something that weighs 25 lbs to get a realistic idea of how heavy it will be. As expected, this unit has a very small stride. Thats fine for me because I'm only 5 ft tall with short legs. A tall person might not like it. It took a few tries to get my rhythm right so it was smooth pedalling. But after some practice (and reading the instructions! LOL) I can now keep it going. You have to put your feet at the front of the pedals if you're using it standing up, and make sure the unit is turned so that the handle is to the back. You should be able to read the display while you're standing on it. If the display is upside down, it's turned the wrong way. I included a picture of the instructions for that. I am not coordinated enough to use this elliptical without holding on to something. Maybe someday. It works perfect to put my kitchen chair in front of it. I like to set it up in front of the door so I can bird watch while I'm pedalling. I thought about returning this elliptical and purchasing another one made by the same company that has handles but takes up the same floor space. It also has a larger stride. It costs $30 more. I'm still thinking that through. Overall, this product is well made and serves it's purpose well as long as you don't expect it to perform like the big ones at the gym. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Love It
Style: Standing and Sitting
I love the fact that I can use this standing or sitting. I don’t use it every day, but it is great to have when online work meetings go on forever and I’m getting antsy. I have had this for 8 months now and haven’t had any of the issues I’ve seen complaints about.

  • Nice
Style: Standing and Sitting
The media could not be loaded. Some folks might be saying the move movements are choppy and that's partially true. They're only choppy when you're putting minimal effort into moving your foot back forth. Just pushing with your toes will cause a choppy effect. If you use your entire foot to push the movement improves. I don't like the chair I have to sit and do it because it isn't enough height to get fluent movement in a forward pedal, but if pedal backwards it works. You cannot be lazy with this machine if minimal effort is your intention don't get it and put a bad review. The only other thing is that I am clumsy and need a bar to balance so I should've picked another model with a bar so that's my mistake not the company but if they want to put a bar then great! ... show more
