  • Very good
Color: 1000g Pla Transparent Size: 1KG
I have used the clear version of this filament in 3 totally different printers: Toybox, AnkerMake, and Bambu X1 Carbon. In all printers it produced very sturdy models to exact dimensions. I also print it at higher speeds than specified with excellent results. The only difficulty is that the removal of the support structure is somewhat more challenging probably because of the superior layer adhesion property. In the pictures the model behind is printed at the specified slow speed and the one in the front at high speed with no difference in end quality. The model behind has a little damage at the bottom which happened while removing the thin support layer from underneath the model. Overall a great product for producing sturdy models. ... show more

  • excellent quality
Color: 2kg Pla Black+white Size: 2KG
The SUNLU PLA 3D Printer Filament is excellent quality. It feeds smoothly through my printer without any jams and the prints come out clean with consistent layers. The colors are vibrant and exactly as described. I’ve used it for several projects, and it’s proven to be strong and durable. The spool is also well-packaged to prevent moisture, which is a big plus. Overall, it’s a reliable filament that produces great results every time. I’ll definitely be ordering more! ... show more

  • Good Quality great price
Color: 4kg Pla Black+white+blue+red Size: 4KG
Just started getting back into 3d printing as a result most of my filament was not usable. Ordered this at a good price. Has good adhesion to the print bed does require some tuning in the slicer because it does cause a bit of stringing if you use standard pla settings.

  • Capable Filament...limited functionality...
Color: 1000g Pla Transparent Size: 1KG
Expectations I have never used Sunlu PLA, and, honestly, I wasn’t super impressed with this particular PLA. It is a capable PLA, but my expectations left me disappointed none the less. I was super excited at the prospect of a PLA that might look a little crystallin or glass like. The term “Clear” in this product description is not accurate, and this may be due to some misunderstandings of what the word means during translation from Chinese to English. What the company seems to actually mean by clear is…”without pigment”. So, what I expected was a material that was similar to glass, with clear (like fiber optics) filament. What I got was a cloudy material mostly opaque, more similar to a glue stick or an Ice cube. It also has a slightly yellow hue to it. The Reality This PLA didn’t look like it was going to look good when laid down on the print, but I was willing to give it a shot. I was surprised to find that the bottom temp printed on the PLA was 200 degrees C. This is usually the middle or near the top of the temp range for a PLA. I decided to do a temp tower to see where its “best temp” was, but, in spite of my best efforts, I was unable to find a tower with temps from 200 to 240 (which is the listed temp range). So, I had to make a new gcode file to print a tower with those temps. The numbers on the one pictured are from 245 (at the bottom) to 200 (at the top) and each level is -5 degrees. My test showed that all levels were stringy except at the bottom of the range at 200. I suspect you could run this filament at 190 or 195 and get even better results, but I didn’t have time to test that theory. The Results This actually was a reliable, nice looking filament. It wasn’t clear, mind you, but it did have a small amount of transparency, and it created a nice, silky sheen on the surface. It lost its yellow hue during the print and had an icy cold look to the color afterwards. I think, even if I hadn’t had that expectation of clear filament, I would have liked a little more transparency to justify calling it a transparent filament. Conclusion Even at 200 degrees, I still got some stringing. It printed fine details well, but did leave some stringing even at low temps. I had no issues with clogging or flow inconsistency. The color was consistent and pleasant, though a bit featureless shade of white. The prints react beautifully to having LED light put through them. I used a display for one print and it lit up like a Christmas tree. But, in regular lighting, I found it difficult to see curves and features of the models. I don’t know if I would recommend this particular filament to someone, but I think the company is taking a lot of pride in their product. The box has a very nice temperature guide printed on it (see pictures). The roll was a good quality spun roll, free of knots. And the filament did print consistently well. I just don’t personally see the color or transparency of the resulting prints as very useful. You can see that the vase turned out very nice, and it has a nice almost transparent look, but there are very few occasions when I will need a pale white, barely transparent filament. Still, this PLA was worth the purchase for vases and some sculptures, and I look forward to trying more PLA from this company. Happy Printing. ... show more

  • Clear PLA is also pretty much the best PLA
Color: 1000g Pla Transparent Size: 1KG
**Update** I have a recent lightsaber project I'm putting together for my friend and tried out the silver PLA, and once again got pretty impressive results. Didn't need to do anything crazy, standard 200/60 temps and a PEI steel sheet to print on top of. The results came out really clean and I'm really pleased. Based on this I can vouch for the basic color blends as well as the clear.** If you're looking for a clear PLA that can print like glass, this one gives pretty good results. You will have to tweak your printer settings and use 100% infill in order to get there- consult youtube and websites like printables for more info. Some experimentation is probably necessary for this. What I really wanted to talk about is how good this specific blend of PLA is to print compared to most other PLAs I've ever tried. This material is not only strong (bending in the "weak direction" perpendicular to the layers this is only mildly less strong than certain tough PLA+ blends), but most importantly it prints with a consistency that outclasses most other PLAs I've tried. There are two prints specifically that highlight how good this material is for intricate or tough to print structures. A print in place MicroSD box (a popular design on thingiverse and printables), and a replica rollcage. You will notice on these websites that the PIP MicroSD box is extremely hard to print, with many people unable to get the arms to move because they've fused or are dimensionally inaccurate. I had this problem while trying my vast array of Flashforge, Inland, Creality and other filaments, but the one that did work on the first try with zero fuss and no fiddling on my ender 3 V2 was the Sunlu Clear. After printing with default no tweak printer settings, it just worked with the arms freely moving after I popped it off the bed. Similarly, I've had a heck of a time trying to print the rollcage design with other filaments, and even with Cura's revised tree supports they did not come out right. The vertical bars sometimes messed up and either failed completely or looked saggy or goopy. Frustrated after several hours of trying different settings and in particular wasted PLA, I took out the Sunlu Clear and it printed first try, and in fact it probably didn't need any supports at all except for the rear horizontal bars. Basically perfect out of the box. I never had to do anything crazy to print this material, just set the printer to 200 deg F and the bed to 60 deg bog standard settings and just let it go. I have to assume that this is likely because the clear contains less fillers than any colored blend. Regardless, if you are looking to print some complex and tough models, I would recommend giving this a try. ... show more
