🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The iSanmate filament products receive generally positive reviews, with particular praise for their printing quality and great color. However, some users have issues with specific color gradients not matching the advertisement. For the most part, even the more complex filament types such as Wood and Glow-in-the-Dark are generally well-received, with only minor issues with certain varieties.

Pros

  • 👍 Exceptional print quality across all types of filament, including complex varieties like Wood and Glow-in-the-Dark.
  • 💜 Matte finishes provide smooth and attractive printed results.
  • 👌 Filaments generally seen as reliable with minimal clogging.

Cons

  • 👎 Some color gradients, specifically the Red/Yellow variety, do not match their advertised appearance.
  • ⚠️ Some users found the filaments to be slightly brittle, although this did not seem to affect print quality.
  • ❌ A small number of users reported clogging issues with certain filament types.

Should I Buy It?

If you prioritize high-quality prints and a wide array of unique finishes and colors, then iSanmate filament is a solid option. However, bear in mind that the colors may not always match their advertising perfectly, and be prepared to test and adjust settings for optimal results.

  • Great looking
Color: Glow Multicolor, Green, Blue and Blue-green
Make sure you dehydrate your filament. This stuff prints easy if you dry the filament, though I did have some breaks. That said, it is quite brittle compared to normal pla, but the finished product is beautiful. For best effect, use a LED light on it for a bit to "charge" it up, then turn off the lights and it will shine bright ... show more

  • You have to Love the GLOW!
Color: Glow Green
With my very first 3D printer, I could only print with ABS. At that time, I frequently printed in a Glow ABS. Kids just seem to be really intrigued by Glow-in-the-Dark items and it was a big seller back then. I have looked for PLA in a glow for quite some time and the only items I found were way to over priced for my tastes. Then I stumbled across ISANMATE's Glow in the Dark Filament and decided to give it a go. When the box arrived and I opened it, I saw the same quality packaging that I always see in ISANMATE's filaments, solid box with a nicely vacuum packaged roll of filament. Removing it from the package only took a few minutes and it was set to print. I really appreciate the quality of the spooling of the filament. Nice even rows of filament shows that ISANMATE takes the time to get it right the first time. I normally do a test print, without running a Temp Tower, just to see hoe the filament prints with "Standard Settings" The Benchy printed beautifully on my MK3s. Once the print was done, I let the print sit in the bed and cool and soak in the light. Then I turned off the lights to see how well the glow would show. Some filament I have tried in the past, had a very low glow and it was difficult to take photos without adding some additional light. Not so for this filament, these photos are straight from my phone. There is a little bit of stringing visible but a few extra degrees of heat will fix that and then these will be perfect. The last image is what 3D printing is all about. Our old Christmas tree star died and we had to buy a new one. The star came with a terrible mount that looked like it was made from the top of a milk carton. as tall as our tree id, the star would never fit on top with that stupid mount. I took the mount from the old star and testid it. The "Chip Clip" design is great and allows the star to be mounted lower on the tree and that way it clears the ceiling. The mount had a green tube on top that fit the old star but didn't fit the new one, it was bigger. After 15 minutes of time in the modeling software and 30 minutes of print time and the new star was on the tree. The glow filament isn't as white/white as the star but buried in the tree, you'll never notice. All in all, I have come to like ISANMATE's filament and the price is very hard to beat. If you need to GLOW, give this filament a try!! ... show more

  • Excellent print quality both aesthetic and functional
Color: Petg-black, Red, Brown, Blue
I had heard that PETG is somewhat difficult to print so I had to try it out. Adding carbon fiber to the mix sounded just like the challenge I was wanting. To my surprise, this filament printed beautifully on my Neptune 3 Pro with minimal changes to the generic PETG built into Cura. It's perfect for functional parts (I printed fixing brackets for the MGN12 rail I used to update my laser's x-axis) and the visual quality is much better than most PLA I've used. There is an oozing and stringing issue but after tweaking the slicer settings (temp, retraction, travel), it greatly reduced that problem. The color combo was also a selling point since there is variety without having to shell out $30 each for 1kg of each color. I didn't receive a spool of the brown but I did receive 2 rolls of blue (I contacted the seller but no response but it's a minor issue). Overall I am quite pleased with this filament and going forward I think that I will move away from PLA in favor of PETG--it just prints beautifully. ... show more

  • Look elsewhere
Color: Glow Multicolor, Green, Blue and Blue-green
Let me count the ways in which I feel ripped off. 1) As displayed in my uploaded image, the consistency of this filament is abhorrent. I am using a brand new JS1 Snapmaker and the filament has been grinding the drive gears of the extruder like a rookie truck driver. Never in all of the years I have been doing 3D prints, have I come across a filament that actually gets stuck in the Bowden tube to the point you have to yank it out backwards in an unloading scenario. The print that I am working on, was to be an 18 hour print, but it is now 26 hours because every time I walk away and do something constructive else where, it decides to get stuck and make the JS1 stop and wait for me to return to essentially, yank the filament out, and load it back in. 2) One would assume these would be a full size roll but alas, that is not the case. These are 4 mini rolls of frustration and wasted money with an odd coating that is grainy and full of friction. Luckily I had my SUNU drier and have been literally cooking the roll as I print but even so, it has jammed twice. Wonderfull, because we all know how awesome it is to have a large print stall out or quit on you when it is assumed the product you bought would be just a tad bit better on the quality side. Might as well try to 3d print log chain and see how that pans out. 3) "Glow" doesn't seem to be glowing in the colors that are pictured. In fact, all 4 of them, have the same sick green glow to them so..not sure where the variety pack is in all of this, but it is safe to say they didn't know either, grabbed whatever was laying on the floor and threw it into a box for me to suffer their lack of QC. Either way, I will not buy another product from this company as it is painfully obvious to see, their deceptive practices know no bounds. If it did not take forever to get filament from Snapmaker, I would order nothing but Snapmaker filament because it is far superior than most of what is here on Amazon, other than Hatchbox, which is now my new go to Filament company at this point. (Overture also has issues with overlaps, snags and just horrid PETG) ... show more
