  • Printed perfectly first try
Color: Walnut Wood
I was honestly scared to try this filament, given all the folks who had problems with clogs and all. And while I have extra nozzles and could have easily changed mine out to a .6mm before printing, I was too lazy. But I did follow all of the various pieces of advice, including slowing down the print speed (I just moved it to 80% of the default for 'precision' printing on my Ankermake), recommended temperatures for bed and printing, fan kept on, and I used a raft for better adhesion and a glue stick on the bed. The first print was a delicate statue that I didn't take a picture of because my kid was go giddy at how great it was she wrapped it up for her teacher before I could snap a pic. Print #2 I managed to stall her long enough to get a photo. Both items printed on first try, no clogs, no issues at all. I'm being careful to store it now in a bin where I have a little dehumidifier, and I look forward to doing more with wood pla! Oh - and while these prints do not have a wood grain look, they definitely feel more like wood than any of my other PLA. They are very cool little prints. I would buy again. ... show more

  • Prints well
Color: Black Purple
No discoloration, prints well, quality is good, diameter consistent. Wish the color would change quicker. Glitter is also in this filament which adds a little something to it.

  • Clog Prone and Poor Quality
Color: Black Blue
Although the color is beautiful, this is, without a doubt, the worst filament that I have ever used. The filament package was vacuum sealed, and the bag was not violated in shipping; however, there are multiple flaws that make the filament unusable. The surface is rough. The diameter is out of spec ranging from 1.71mm to 1.80mm on the portions that I tested with my micrometer. In spite of it being sealed, I was experiencing popping and clogging when I tried to use it. Drying the spool in my filament dryer reduced the popping but did not entirely eliminate the popping. It made no difference to the clogging behavior. On the last attempt to print with it, this filament clogged my nozzle so badly that I had to disengage the drive and manually clear it. I will NOT risk using this again. Every long print with this filament fails due to the inconsistent blend and clogging. Other PLA, including other silk PLA, from multiple different manufactures prints fine. Because I was unable to attempt longer prints within the return period, I'm now stuck with a very expensive doorstop. ... show more

  • Very cool!
Color: Black Purple
This filament while it starts purple quickly begins to print with a gradient. Some items have come out light purple, dark purple with white / silver specs, and medium purple / black. I would recommend turning the print speed down as this filament needed a little more time to cool in between layers. Adheres well to the bed without glue and does not cause much stringing. ... show more

  • Perfect roll beautiful printing after first trying an awful 4 pack bundle
Color: Wood Oak
This review is for the OVV3D Wood 30% Oak infused PLA filament 1kg roll while comparing to the bundle. MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDED MANUFACTURER SETTINGS! I was a newbie but figured it out in Bambu Studio. Set the temps to rec spec! I first bought the 4 x 200g pack 30% wood bundle, which was a disaster. Extremely dry stuck knotted encrusted rolls that I paid good money for. I was able to try printing with them and the results were great but much of the rolls were unusable knotted and broken. After I filed for a refund as Reddit people recommended, I took apart the 200g cardboard roll to find that glue had spread into the roll onto a bunch of the filament cementing it turning the filament into a hard molded rock-like thing. So with my money back and a need to purchase wood filament I was at a stand still. I wanted 30% wood but the choices were limited. Should I buy OVV3D again which gave me beautiful results but awful rolls? Should I take an expensive risk and purchase a 1kg spool of Oak Wood? I’m glad I did because this time the roll was perfect and so were the results as you can see in the photos. I also included a swatch of 15% Ebony from another company which was great but only had 15% wood. Everywhere I look people are talking about all other companys that do wood filament like Hatchbox which is expensive but contains hardly any real wood! Nobody ever mentions OVV3D which has atleast 30% real wood. As it prints you can see the sawdust texture as well as smell the beautiful aroma. The results of 2 color designs are spectacular. I printed on both the Bambu A1 mini and the P1S. It’s always best to monitor the first layers as there are tendencies for loose threads to appear and get stuck in places but can be quickly pulled out. The company is getting some bad reviews from that 4 pack bundle here. They need to improve their rolls especially if they want customers who use the AMS they need to stop using the cardboard. At these prices a nice transparent plastic spool would be best. I know it’s not best for the environment but those spools are no good for the Bambu AMS system. Ok OVV3D you have work to do. You got a great product that if improved could be the best real wood pla out there if you had some promotional support on social media from people posting beautiful results. ... show more

  • I love this color but it constantly clogs my printer's nozzle
Color: Walnut Wood
I've been using this color of this brand of filament for a while now. I run 3 Bambu X1C's and a Bambu A1 Mini 3d printer. I have only ever had one filament that causes nozzle clogs and this is it. It clogs really bad if I try to print a larger quantity at one time and ends up "ghost" printing nothing after starting normally. It's happened several times and each time I have to clean the nozzle and the mess it makes. No other filament has clogged a nozzle for me. I don't know if it's something in this particular color as I have other colors from the brand that work fine. It's really annoying to run a 9 hour print overnight only to find it printed the first 5% and clogged. This is one of the best wood colors I've found so I really need to use it but it's getting to the point that it clogs almost every time now. I hope the manufacturer can figure this out and fix it. ... show more
