Update (original review below). Manufacturer reached out to me after my review and discussed what printing settings I had tried. After some troubleshooting, they agreed to send me a new roll to try. The new roll arrived quickly and after a bit of fiddling I managed to get two great prints out of the new roll. I will say that the filament was a bit more finicky than normal PLA but once I got the settings right it looks great. I attached two pictures above, one showing the quality of prints of an octopus. The initial roll is in front and the completed print is in the background and the second picture. I highly recommend this filament and would not hesitate to buy it again despite the initial issues due to the manufacturer's excellent customer service. I will start off by saying that this filament looks great based on the layers that I could get to print properly. That being said, getting this to print without adhesion and clogging has been impossible for me with various settings. Adhesion to the bed seems great and the first few layers print very well. After a few layers though it seems like the filament begins to clog the nozzle and then skips layers, eventually ceasing to print entirely. I have tried adjusting temperature upward in increments and also slowed down the print speed, but I cannot get good layers. I also hear a popping noise from the nozzle which makes me think that the filament might contain excess moisture. I have tried the exact same file with both normal PLA and PETG and it prints fine which seems to indicate that the culprit is this filament. If you can get this to print successfully I think it would look fantastic, but I have not been successful so far. ... show more

Very easy to print, it handle this 14 hour print flawlessly. It has 3 different shades of color on the Manta Ray. On the rainbow filament it was a 23 hour print. Great filament.

Prints well, came sealed and dried. With thin layers, the colors blend into a pretty rainbow on the edges of prints! For passing 0.35mm tolerance tests on my direct drive Ender 3, here's my cura settings: Layer Height: 0.16mm Line Width: 0.4mm Wall Lines: 3 Outer Wall Wipe Distance: 0.5mm Wall ordering: Outside to Inside Horizontal Expansion: -0.03mm Initial Layer Expansion: -0.1mm Hole Expansion: 0mm Top/Bottom Layers: 7 Print Temp: 205c Bed Temp: 40c (not sure if heating is even necessary) Flow: 98% (adjust for your printer) Print Speed: 60mm/s Coasting Volume: 0.02mm & Adjust retraction for your printer. Firstly, I have noticed that the filament is causing line skipping in my prints. This means that there are intermittent gaps or missing lines in the printed object, resulting in an inconsistent and flawed final product. I have made sure to properly calibrate my printer and perform necessary maintenance, ruling out any potential hardware issues. Secondly, the temperatures recommended for this filament seem to be incorrect. I had stayed away from Silks for a while because I had a really hard time getting them to print consistantly. I wanted a Tri-Color for some dragons that my kids wanted and decided to give this a shot. On my Prusa MK3S this ran perfectly at 210 / 60 / .20 Layer Height and it looks excellent. I did have two overnight print failures while using the roll because the filiment was too tight on the spool and it snagged. The filiment wasn't crossed, it was just an inconsistant wind against the wall of the spool. If it wasn't for that, it would be 5 stars.
