I have an Entina TINA2, which is a very small, inexpensive PLA unit targeted primarily to Middle School technology programs. It is a fantastic printer, but very basic and I was unsure as to how well this PLA Matte filament would print given that 1) Entina cautions against using any filament other than theirs (😜) and 2) there is not a lot of flexibility in what you can do and this filament was about half the price of the Entina brand. Well, I have been just delighted with how well this filament prints and what the finished product looks like. The first thing I made was a new key fob case for my Jeep given that the OEM one does not fit well into the watch pocket of my jeans and when it was in there I would get random button presses. So, the new fob is just great (see photos) and the color matches the blue trim on my Wrangler. A big five stars for this filament, just perfect except for one small issue. The reel that this comes on is HUGE (did I mention what a bargain it is against the house brand?) and will not fit on the printer reel support so I had to transfer filament from the large reel to an empty smaller reel that I have. A minor inconvenience and I am already at work on a way to couple the large reel to the printer. ... show more

I first purchased this product as a single roll, and the results were beautiful! Of course, for my next order, I purchased the multi pack of four to save some money. Turns out that the multi pack of four is a lower quality product. Terrible bed adhesion, restarting every print at least once, and after multiple failed prints, I finally gave up trying to use it. I will be sending it back, and just ordered the individual rolls instead. Considering I went through the first roll without a single failed print and no bed adhesion issues, there’s no way this can be the same product. I will admit, I questioned it because when I unpacked it, the spools that hold the filament are light gray, and the original product was wound on a black spool, but I figured since it was the same manufacturer and the same product and the very same listing, the different colored spool shouldn’t indicate a different quality product. Very disappointing that they would put a lower quality product in the multi pack. There is no real ‘savings’ there. ... show more

I've never had any issue with Sunlu filament and generally have always had a good experience printing with them. Print wise- nothing has change. Ease of use, however is a different story. The new blue spools look very nice and appear of better quality- thicker plastic and more enclosed to help with clean windings. The issue is they appear to be shorter width and diameter by a small margin- but its enough that it now causes issues with the AMS system for the BambuLab P1S, X1C model printers. The smaller spools are now not as large and do not sit as nice a gap on the AMS rollers; this results in rubbing against the bottom of each filament slot in the AMS unit. Which leads to the AMS overworking the motors as there's more friction and drag on the system. This caused issues multiple times while feeding and unloading. I ended up respooling to an empty BBL spool - no issues after. It also happened again with some Sunlu Glow in the Dark PLA on again- new spool - same issue. Respooled on a printed empty spool. No issues after. A benefit of Sunlu filament over say Esun or similar other vendors was that stock PLA profiles worked very well and Spools were AMS friendly out of box. Others had cardboard spools or spool sizes that caused issues. The price was also nice. But if you print alot or have a print farm- respooling can start to add up lots of time. I'd be ok paying more for an AMS ready spool. Again- the filament prints fine, but the product ease of use overall is less user friendly now. ... show more

This is probably the best matte black PLA I've ever used. It prints very nicely, the matte finish hides defects so parts look perfect. It doesn't string, doesn't clog, it's easy to paint. Even without priming paint sticks very well to it. With ironing enabled the top surfaces look injection molded smooth. The only con is it's adhesion to a PEI build plate is less than other filaments, very thin single wall parts don't adhere well enough to the bed and lift off. It's not an issue of first layer z-height, it's the material itself is slightly less sticky. I usually add a brim or raft for very small parts. For bigger parts adhesion isn't an issue. ... show more
