Has Pros and Cons. I did a test install in the garage as when it is installed permanently I want to do it correctly. Glad I did, The first Con is the Instructions The illustrations didn't match what I was seeing. The brackets looked totally different in the Manual, No mention of how to connect the 2 brackets together to make them be somewhat adjustable. (this adjustment is a Pro). Once I figured out that part and began mounting to a temp setup I noticed I was shorted 2 machine screws that attach the sliding clips in the Channel on the back to the brackets. I had a couple screws to replace so Not a terrible Con but a little annoying. Next whe Lag screws you are to use to hold the brackets to the wall are terrible. 3 of the 4 had the heads twist off. I had to replace these as well. I had the Heater Mounted and found it only turns on with the remote No Big deal since there is only a rocker switch on the back which I assume is Main power. Remote works well and this thing cranks out the Heat. I set it on the lowest setting and got the wife to check it out. on the lowest setting you can really feel it from about 6 feet away, on the highest it's uncomfortable to stand within 3 feet of this thing. It should be great on the Patio this fall Seems a bit high priced but it really makes it warm so I think it's worth the cost. ... show more

This is such a great outdoor heater. It really throws off quite a bit of heat. You don’t need to be right on top of it either. It comes with a remote control too to make for easy turning on and off and adjusting through the different temperature settings.

The media could not be loaded. My wife and I love gardening. We have several potted plants. They are flowering, tropical plants and do not withstand cold in the winter. It is only October and already we had the first frost! We brought all our plants inside the house and they are located in three different areas. For the plants in our three-season back porch we needed heat and I got this electric infrared heater. The heater comes with mounting brackets and necessary screws and anchors. Mounting is little bit tricky and slightly complicated. There are two brackets that need to be fixed to a wall and two more brackets need to be attached to the back of the heater. Then you need to aline them and fix using short bolts and wing nuts. Once done, the angle of the heater (mounted lengthwise, horizontally) can be adjusted to tilt up or down. I wish this whole procedure is simplified and the user just puts two screws in a wall and hangs the heater. The heater is about 24” long, 4.7” deep, and 7.3” tall. Its body is made of plastic and looks neat. The heater weighs about 4.5 pounds (not heavy). It has overheating protection. The heater is ETL certified for safety and quality, and has a waterproof rating of IP34. Being infrared with carbon fiber heating elements and a reflector, heat radiates and doesn’t need a fan to move hot air. Therefore, the heater is very quiet and suitable for indoor living areas. The heater has two heating modes, low (620W) and high (1,500W), and are indicated as P1 and P2 respectively on its touch display. The heater has a rocker power switch on its side by the display. Once its power cord is plugged into a wall electrical outlet and switched on, you may use the heater’s touch display or its remote control to put it in standby (P0) or select one of the power mode or set a timer for auto shutoff. The timer works in 1 hour intervals up to 9 hrs. The remote has a range of about 13 feet. Once a power mode is selected, the carbon filaments starts glowing and heat comes out in few seconds. This comes on instantly and is really quiet as there is no fan. I have several heaters from the discount store for quit a bit less, but the fans always get noisy and die after a while. I'm not sure if this is intended to supply "radiant" heat which does not need a fan, but the description is similar. The housing is all plastic, but hopefully well insulated from the heating element. There are some warnings about how to mount it, and there is no safety switch other than the listed "overheat" switch. The mounting hardware is pretty strong, but it seams over-complicated since there is a wall part and a heater part. You then line them up and try to get your hand behind the heater to screw them together. Once done though, you can adjust the angle as needed. The screws for the heater section were actually loose in the same bag as the heater and had fallen inside the unit. Why they were not in the bag with the brackets is a mystery. The instructions do not match the remote in that you don't have to push the power button repeatedly to get different temperatures as there are 3 buttons on the remote. The remote uses 2 "AAA" batteries (not included). While the heater certainly seems capable, there is no override to turn it on from the unit. If you loose the remote (no storage on unit) or run out of batteries, you cannot turn this on. Whether this is as affective as fan powered unit remains to be seen. ... show more
