Our ancient Sunbeam 4-slot toaster gave out, so I figured why not buy another Sunbeam? This one is quite nice, runs and "pops" quietly, and I guess it's worth what we paid (maybe). Still, there's quite a difference between this and our old one which I bought perhaps 10 or so years ago. The old one was mostly metal. Aside for the heating "innards", this one is plastic. It's nicer-looking than the old one but the older one was better quality. I'm happy with it, but we'll see how long it lasts, planned obsolescence and all that. ... show more

Nice toaster, works as expected. I was surprised at how much of the appliance is made of plastic, but I guess that’s to be expected these days. It toasts the bread and bagels very well. I wish the power cord was a little longer, it is a little challenging finding a space to sit it when using it to get it close to an outlet to plug it in. But all in all it’s works very well. I like the bagel button, and how well the food comes out when the toast cycle is complete. ... show more

Got my toaster yesterday and immediately put it to use. I eat normal whole grain bread from a pre-sliced loaf just like most folks do. The brand of bread is a popular market brand that should easily fit into a toaster slot. This particular toaster barely accomodates a bread slice: I either have to practically force it into the slot or I have to turn it lenghwise in the slot so that it will pop up when finished. To me it's not a big deal because everything else about this toaster is well-designed and it's simple to use. But I know that to some folks, that's a show stopper. So happy to have been able to replace our 12 year old toaster with this exact same toaster. East to clean and is just an over-all great toaster and our last one had heavy use for 12 years!
