Our basic Black and Decker toaster oven recently failed and we wanted to try something a little more powerful and versatile. Wow does this toaster oven impress. Toast is done perfectly in about 5 minutes. It heats up very fast for baking and heats food evenly. We bake a lot of sourdough bread and the proofing function really comes in handy. We recently tried baking a whole 7 pound chicken and with the included temperature probe it came out perfectly. Literally everything we have tried in this toaster oven has come out tasting great. It is also very easy to use. This is an excellent value for the money. You pay a little more than you would for one of the smaller basic models but you can cook so much more in this toaster oven that spending a little more is definitely worth it. Do take note that this device is a bit larger than one of the basic models. In the one picture I show it next to our kitchen aid mixer so you have a sense of size.     • Finally a multi function toaster oven that lasts
Updated Review: We originally bought this in January 2023 and I wanted to give an update that we have been using this air fryer for 20 months now. We usually run it multiple times a day (usually in the morning for breakfast sausages and lunch for chicken nuggets and then occasionally in the evening for salmon or steak if the weather isn't good for grilling) and it is still going strong. Needs a good cleaning, but other than that it is still in great shape. Original Review: When we moved to our new house, I wanted to get an air fryer and settled on getting a multi-function toaster oven that could air fry. This was our third fryer in 2 years. The previous 2 only lasted around 6 months each. Hopefully not jinxing myself, but it has now been 14 months and this one is still going strong. We use it daily for breakfast for toasting bread, bagels, cooking breakfast sausages, etc. We also use it daily at lunch as our toddler will only eat chicken nuggets for lunch. And we probably use is on average 1 day a week at nighttime to cook part of a dinner in (salmon fillet, steaks in wintertime, home fries, roasted veggies). Long story short, we use it a lot. I love the temperature probe for cooking meats. Works great. No guessing or continually having to stop, take it out, and check it. You just look over at the display and see where you are at and can easily enough estimate how much longer. The controls took a little bit of getting used to. They were not the most intuitive and I had to actually read the instruction manual. But after a couple weeks it is now very easy to use. Love the removable crumb bin on the bottom. Makes cleaning it very easy. There are these bars around the heating elements. I assume they are there to help protect them from getting hit, but they are a pain to clean when everything gets dirty. Burned on oil and grease are really hard to clean off without scratching the element's glass with the steel wool. From the trial and errors and the other machines that failed, I learned that you don't want a unit that has the coil power going through the mode selection knob. When you realize you are in the wrong mode and switch modes while the power is on, you burn the contacts off. Pretty sure several people in my household were doing that even though I told them not to and that is how our 2nd toaster died. The second was to have the controls on the side of the machine and not the top. I think the top gets too hot being over the oven and that is what killed our first toaster. ... show more

I got this appliance because I live alone and often warming up the whole oven for a few chicken breasts or whatever seems like a lot of energy. I also liked the various modes it had so thought I'd give it a try. The price was just too much to resist. Pros: 1) Comes with a booklet with easy "how to", how long to cook various things, recipes, troubleshooting etc. Really helpful. I put it on top of the appliance (I took it off shortly after ... keep reading) 2) I put 4 frozen chicken breasts in on the roast mode and in about 30 minutes, they were done. So far all I've done is chicken in it but I've only had it a few days 3) The buttons are very easy to understand probably even if you didn't read the book. 4) it fits a lot. It could have fit 6 chicken breasts and then some stuff on the top rack too if I wanted to 5) So many modes - so much awesomeness! Get rid of a bunch of appliances (I might wait a month or so) Cons: 1) This thing gets forking hot man. Like if you touch the outside of it you will burn your hand. Keep your kids away from it for sure. It gets hot on the top, the back and sides. I am actually a bit worried about my wall in this picture because of how hot it gets. That's why I removed the papers ... I honestly thought they might catch fire. Also the vent is at the top lol 2) The probe ... I mean it's ok. I think it isn't sensitive enough. Both times I've cooked chicken in it, it has been overdone and it alerts me at 155. In my regular oven at 155, I take it out and let it rest and it's perfect but my chicken is just a bit overdone here. Plus, the probe - wow it's hot. I mean duh right? But be super careful. I haven't actually figured out the best way to manage all the hot parts to this when I'm taking stuff out. 3) The racks are tight? I mean they just don't slide super easy making the in/out process (especially when everything is so hot) just extra iffy. If the reason why you're buying this is so your kids can have extra independence after school making their pizza bites, fries, chicken nugs or whatever, I'd look somewhere else. I'm all for letting kids figure stuff out and be independent but I would worry about anyone under 14 using this safely without burning their skin to the bone. This is probably not the best toaster oven for the little elderly person who wants to replace their oven like I did. It's kind of hard to get stuff in & out and their skin is so thin it would burn them right to the bone before they even blink! That's my take :) ... show more

I received it last week. Setup was easy. It came with both an "instruction manual" and a "quick start" guide. Preheats and cooks quickly. As per the instruction manual, I washed all the accessories. I recommend washing the enamel cook pan in the dishwasher or soaking it in hot water for a while before the first use. I wiped the oven both inside and out with a damp sponge to help avoid the normal smell that most give off during the first few uses and it helped. The menu is easy to read and the cook temp and time is displayed is large. The fan is a little noisy. The best thing: It comes with a RECIPE BOOK! Can't wait to try them. ... show more
