  • Very nice!
Style: Vertical Quilted Size: Twin
Great value for price. One minor complaint, with these and, it seems, all pads lately, is the material used to secure the pad. It’s stretchy and plenty deep enough for my extra deep mattress - but it’s almost too stretchy. It doesn’t stay secured. I’ve had to add elastic on the corners to make sure it doesn’t come off. Heating: love it! Love that it has automatic shutoffs! Very comfortable, good quality overall. Definitely recommend. ... show more

I love a product!! Great quality! Perfect temperature control. Easy timer settings. Never climb into a cold bed in winter! Get back relief in the summer! Year-round comfort in your own bed! Best purchase! No brainier if you need warmth without the worry of inadvertent burns from standard heating pads! Love mine!!! Totally spoiled to it! ... show more

  • Love this mattress pad
Style: Vertical Quilted Size: Twin
So we had a mattress pad for years until our house burned down. I have been looking for a replacement for almost a year now but was reluctant to spend $120-$150 for a new one. I finally took the plunge on this one due to the reviews and pricing point and I am glad that I did. I missed having my bed warm when I get in it and the Pre-heat function on this item can't be beat. I bought the King Size with dual control. I would like to address some of the negative reviews that I have seen on this item. First is the location of the plug. Yes, it is at the foot of the bed and is located on top of the bed instead of on the side. This was my main concern when I purchased this because my old mattress pad had the plug on the side. I have had no issues with the location of this plug. It is in the center of the bed so I do not hit it since I sleep on one side. I would like to note that if you were a person who was tall AND slept in the middle of the bed, I could see how this would be annoying but I think that simply placing the plug at the top where it would be under your pillow would be a solution. For myself, this was a non issue. Second is how hot the pad gets. I will agree that this thing is very warm on low settings. I did try to place the setting on High and it was just too hot. I like to sleep very warm and my setting doesn't go past 2. I have a routine of turning it on pre-heat about 10 minutes before I am ready for bed and by the time I crawl in, the bed is so very warm and the setting is already at 2. I don't have to worry about remembering to turn off the heater when I get up in the morning because it does shut off after 10 hours. I will agree with other reviewers that the ability to select the number of hours to shut off would be very nice but for the price, I can deal with what I got. The third complaint is feeling the wires when you sleep at night. I put the heated mattress pad on my mattress and then put a waterproof mattress pad over it and then my sheets and I can still feel the wires slightly. Not so much that it bothers me but I could see it bothering someone who was sensitive to that. If you have the ability to add another layer of something between you and the heated mattress pad that would help with reducing how much you feel. For me, this was a non issue because it didn't bother me and I wasn't expecting something plush with the price point of this item. If even the slightest feel of the wires will bother you, then I would recommend spending the extra money on one that has a higher fill content. Overall, I am very please with my purchase. So much so, that I bought two more in Twin size for my boys. They have permanently camped out in my bed since I have had this item and I know the only way to get them back to their own beds is to give them one of their own. Since I have only had this item for about 3 weeks now, I can't comment on its longevity but I will make it a point to update this review in a year to comment on that part. If you want a heated mattress pad that is functional and reasonably priced, try this one. Update 04/11/18: So I took longer to update this review than expected but I still agree with my original review. The pad has held up beautifully and works as good today as it did on day one. Even the ones I purchased for my kids are still going strong. This heated pad hasn't let me down and I feel that it is a great product for its longevity and working like it should. I would like to see future versions of this item get an adjustable timer but that might increase the price. This is a great heated pad and I didn't have to pay a fortune for it. If you are on the fence, get off and buy this one. Update 01/16/23: The heating pad is still going strong. I have noticed that I can now tolerate a higher level heat (now 5). Not sure if it is because I have gotten older thus colder (LOL) or if the heating element may be degrading. I'm still warm at night so I'm still very happy with this purchase. I originally bought this back in 2016 and here we are in 2023 and it is going strong. I feel that I have gotten my money's worth and if it ever dies on me, I will be buying a new one. ... show more

  • Works perfectly.
Style: Vertical Quilted Size: King
I really enjoy having a warm bed during the winter. Having the heat under me instead of a blanket is so much better in my opinion. No issues and has a timer to turn it off whenever you want.

  • Very poor "user experience" and heating degrades after 6 short months.
Style: Vertical Quilted Size: King
This purchase was to replace another Sunbeam mattress pad that did not work so well after only 3 months of use (poor heating). I have several issues with this new heating pad design: 1) Jut like the previous pad, the cords between the two controls are not long enough for the controls to comfortably rest on the night tables without slipping. As a result the cords aren't resting on the floor behind the bed, and their weight pulls the two controls unless you secure them with something, such as going around a lamp or clock radio. But then it's not long enough on the other side. If the designers had added another foot and a half or more of wire on each side, this problem would disappear. 2) The buttons on the controls are extremely clicky, i.e. noisy. For something that is to be used in a bedroom where two people sleep, it is extremely irritating that they make so much noise when pressed. I suppose it never occurred to the designers that a couple does not necessarily go to bed at the same time. Silent buttons do exist, so there is no excuse. 3) There is no indication that the unit is on after the control's display turns off. Again, when in complete darkness, you can't tell if it's on or off since the display is completely dark and there is no other light on the control, let alone reading what setting is on. 4) When you press any button on the control, the display lights up so bright that it illuminates the entire ceiling of the bedroom. Again, for a product that is supposed to be used at night, they should have included a light sensor to adjust the brightness. The display's current brightness is meant for a room where the light is on, not for a dark room when someone else is already sleeping. 5) The buttons on the control are too close to each other and that makes it difficult to differentiate them by touch because there is no tactile feedback. The above reveals that the designers did not have their thinking cap on when they designed their product. This is NOT the first time by any means that I find glaring design snafus in any type of product. Examples abound: - a humidifier where the water container has sharp angles (collecting dirt), making it hard to clean, where it should have been rounded angles (not an issue with molded plastic). - a salad spinner that can't be disassembled, making it impossible to clean where the water goes - a printer where the touch display is so small that you can't press your finger on the right control and keep doing something you don't want to do. - a car dashboard that has a shiny texture, reflecting itself onto the windshield on sunny days - and on and on and on. I can give you plenty of similar examples. My engineering background, coupled with the fact that I have designed computer user interfaces for a living in the past, makes me super sensitive to this kind of issues. It is as if the designers never actually used their own product. If they had, they would have immediately noticed the shortcomings of their design. The above being said, the pad heats well, and fairly quickly. We will see whether that lasts. The previous one worked well for 3 months (February to April), but when I tried to use it again in the following fall, it would not heat up as much as it used to, and quickly got worse. By then it was too late to return something purchased in February. This time around, I didn't make that mistake and bought it in the Fall. We shall see. Update on April 3, 2023: Well, it's been exactly 6 months of use. Actually more like 5 as I was away from home for most of January. And for the past couple of weeks, the pad does not heat as well as it used to, and heats up much slower than before. It used to take 10-15 minutes to heat up, which was just right for getting ready for bed. Now I have to come 30-45 minutes before I think I am going to go to bed and turn it on, so that it would be warm when I get in bed. Are those products supposed to last not even a full winter? If so that's insane. Shame on you Sunbeam. I am taking two other stars off because that's unacceptable. I don't want to think of how it will work next fall. Or maybe I will have bought another brand by then. It's hard to comprehend the current rating on this product, which is why I bought it in the first place. ... show more

  • It's great!

I bought this heated mattress pad to keep me warm in winter. I was not satisfied with the heated blanket I had before. This mattress pad has even distribution of warmth and the heat coming from underneath keeps me warmer than a blanket on top. I love this heated mattress pad!
