This is my review after 24 hours: the quality is great. This topper feels much more dense than my last one (which I think was Zinus brand). The topper "inflated" very quickly. I was able to sleep on it about 6 hours after I opened it. It feels very supportive - just the right amount of firm and softness. It contours very well to the body. I didn't find the smell to be that strong or unpleasant and I have a pretty sensitive nose. I just kept the window open in the room while it inflated. The best compliment I can give is that I no longer feel the hole in my mattress! As I replaced my old mattress topper with this one I discovered a hole my cat created Wolverine style that went straight through the mattress. I was debating about getting a new mattress but since I might move soon I took the advice of my friend and just duct taped the hole and put the topper over it. (I also put on a bamboo mattress protector to hold it in place and protect everything, which helps with slipping). It feels like I'm sleeping on a brand new mattress! This topper is firm and very comfortable for my back. Its firm at first but is soft once layed on. I have a queen and for the price this is a really well made topper. Stayes in place with ease. I am writing this after just one very well rested night

It solved my and my partners sore back and neck. We bought an Ikea mattress that was supposed to be medium firm but it feels like is too hard. The topper solved the problem is soft and we been sleeping better. However the 4 star rating is due to the fact that after 2 weeks is already clumping and bunching in some sections so I assume I will have to replace it eventually. I hope not within the next year. Good price no smell. I paired it with the sheets that an adjust to weather (seasonal) and so far pretty good. ... show more

Needed a mattress cushion as my husband lost so much weight from cancer. I have damaged shoulders from wear and tear. Been sleeping on it for almost a week and it is great. One previous reviewer said it was like getting out of quicksand in the morning. Not a bad description but it cuddles your body in a cocoon and has been a great comfort for joint and body pain. I will add it take’s getting used to when you want to roll and turn position as the cocoon effect holds you in the foam. Sleep hasn’t been too hot or cold as of yet. I have a herniated disc and degenerative disc disease so it’s hard to find a mattress that is comfortable. I went to visit my parents and the bed in their guest room is very firm (and uncomfortable). This topper arrived quickly and the foam was fully expanded within 24 hours. It is extremely comfortable. I would say it’s medium firmness. It has been good for me as a side sleeper. I wake up sweating every night. I spent a lot of time going through reviews on these toppers that are suppose to cool. Every topper had mixed reviews so I went with this Serta 3” because it seemed to have more people saying it kept their temp regulated. It has sat for 24 hours . It is a full 3” and seems cool to the touch. Tonight will be the first night I sleep on it so I only gave 4 stars as I’m not sure if it will actually keep me cool or not. Hoping it does all it promises to do. Update: first night sleeping on the Serta topper. I found even though the topper was cool to the touch it did not keep me cool during the night. Still woke up sweating. Also it was advertised as medium firmness. This is not a medium firmness to me. Was way too soft. Not so soft that you get buried in it like some memory foam but definitely too soft for me. I still found myself tossing and turning because my back was aching due to the softness. I will give it one more night but I believe I will be returning this. I am changing my score to a 3 star as I do not believe it delivered what it advertised. Again comfort of a topper is a personal choice. If you like soft cushion and not worried about the cooling aspect this would be great for you. ... show more

We recently received a new mattress which is a little stiffer then our previous one. Bought this to make our mattress I little softer. Worked well. No more sore hips or shoulders. Its a little stiffer then the topper we had on our previous mattress.
