Seriously, my prayers have been answered. I only wish I would have thought to invest in this mattress topper while I was pregnant. It might have saved me a huge headache (literally). I've never had much luck with mattresses, but I've never really blamed the mattresses - because I suck at sleeping. Apparently, I'm a contortionist in my sleep and do things with my body that would give little Linda Blair a run for her money. I wake up a million times a night with pains in my head, my neck, my back, my hips, my legs, literally everywhere. However, I've had a friend come over to help with my new baby and I happen to have the same mattress in the guest room that I have in my main bedroom. She brought it up to me one day that her hip and lower back were killing her since sleeping on the mattress in the guest room- even though it is a pretty expensive pillow-top brand. She asked me if I could order her some kind of mattress topper from Amazon and she'd reimburse me. At this point, I had been in so much agony myself that I got two - one for the guest bed and one for mine. And if it weren't for the fact that I only have nightmares, I'd insist that I'm dreaming up this amazing experience with this mattress topper. I mean, I really don't even have words for this thing. I'm not pain free - because, well, it's gonna take a lot of time to undo that kind of damage. But I have noticed a dramatic difference. My body feels so soothingly cradled. I'm not tossing and turning constantly trying to get comfortable. It's just pure bliss. This may sound strange, but it feels like a hug. It does. It really does. Like a hug from the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Some Technical Details: 1) It was very easy to set up. 2) There was only a very faint odor that dissipated almost immediately. 3) I was so desperate to use it that I didn't even wait the full 48 hours as suggested but it seemed to be super plump straight out of the box. The density is perfect for me. 4) It fit absolutely perfectly across my king-sized bed 5) It appears to be of durable quality unlike some toppers I have seen or used in the past that easily shred or discolored. Time will be the ultimate test so I can't 100 percent guarantee this but judging from observation this would appear to be the case. I will update as necessary. 6) It does live up to the claim about not retaining heat and keeping the body a cool and comfortable temperature (which is crucial for a person like me because I practically need to live in an igloo). So yes, I'm very impressed thus far and absolutely I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. I've honestly never been this excited to go to sleep. My fiance loves it and he was a bit upset that I got it in the first place because he loved the mattress the way it was, but now he loves THIS more. And even my little doggie who has become a neurotic mess since my baby was born seems to be a tad more comforted and peaceful sleeping next to me now. Just writing about it makes me want to go upstairs and jump in bed. I'm starting to wonder if they put something inside this thing if you know what I'm talking about, because I'm addicted. 2 Years ago we bought a memory foam mattress. In the store the well broken in mattress cradled us in comfort, relieved pressure points and was an overall joy to lie on. The mattress that we have 2 years later never broke in and was causing me back pain to the point where I would have to hoist myself out of bed in the morning. I thought to myself "Should I buy a memory foam topper to go on a memory foam bed? Wouldn't that be redundant?" So for the last year (after a year I figured the bed wasn't going to break in) I have been sleeping in pain and discomfort. Monday I decided enough was enough. I had gift card money so I decided to splurge. The topper arrived yesterday afternoon (2/7/2018) and it was unpacked while I was at work in the afternoon. There were no tears or pilling of the material on the topper itself. By the time I got home from work it was fully expanded and ready to go on the bed. I should report too that there was less then a slight odor NOTHING to bother me by. Make sure if you are putting this topper on a bed by yourself that you position it carefully. I have a feeling that some rips occur when people drag this across their bed. The foam will drag across the surface. I had my boyfriend help me lift and move into place. There was a little overhang at the end but I was putting a mattress cover over the whole thing and knew that I would rather have overhang then not. Waking up this morning I could move. I didn't really think about it but I got out of bed and didn't have to do stretches to get my stiff back to move. My back wasn't nearly as stiff as it normally is. My FitBit reported that I slept well without too much restlessness. I also didn't feel sick (nauseous) as I typically do first thing in the morning. Granted this is only 1 night. I will report back on Monday but, so far, so good. If this works, I may have just prolonged the life of the $ 2,000 mattress. Believe me, I am NEVER making that mistake again. 3/11/2018 UPDATE: We've had this foam topper for a month now and I am happy to report that my back pain is almost completely gone. I am sleeping better then I have for 2 years and this is the absolute best investment I could have made until I can justify buying a new mattress. Regarding temperature; I will have to get back to you on this as it's still considered winter here in southern California but I will say that without this topper even on cold nights I would sweat in the bed. So far so good and no over heating (well except when I had that 104 degree fever about a week ago but that was the fever not the topper). Oh, the Lucid Topper, so soft and so blue, It arrived in a box, and it knew what to do! I unpacked it quick, with a zip and a glide, And in less than an hour, it puffed up with pride! My bed was too firm, a bit hard like a rock, So I got this soft topper, thought I’d give it a knock. And soft it sure was, like a marshmallow dream, You sink right in, like you're lost in a cream. But beware, dear shopper, it's squishy, you see, If your bed's plush already, it might not be key. For sinking too much, oh, you might get stuck, So firm beds only, to really press your luck! It slides just a bit, so don't toss too wild, Or you’ll wake up slanted, like a giggly child. The cover I got? It was loose at the seams, With strings hanging out, not as neat as it seems. Got this for my daughter's college apartment bed. Mattress that came with apartment was kinda hard and hurt her back. Bought this with the topper and it has worked out well. It is nice and soft but still supportive. Does not make her hot at night. The full xl hangs off the end of her bed a little but with the topper and sheet, it doesn't slide off.
