I've owned my in-ground pool for 38 years, and had always covered it with the blue bubble covers -- from many different manufacturers. They typically lasted 2-3 years. For my last purchase I ordered the clear color cover. Now, four years later it is still going fine. Another thing I discovered is that the blue covers heat only the surface of the water, while the clear cover heats much deeper. I presume this is because the sun's rays are mostly stopped by the blue cover, but with the clear cover those rays go much deeper into the water with the result being even heat almost all the way to the bottom. As an engineer I realize this is also why the blue covers don't last: They get cooked, while the clear covers don't. Buy the clear cover! ... show more

    • Great cover; short lifespan, still worth the money!

We use this in the spring and fall for our salt chlorinated pool and when the weather hits 100 we remove it. After removal I hose it off and put it away in storage. It raises the pool temperature substantially and our heater kicks in for the last few degrees in the spring. In the fall it does more to preserve the heat from the heater. My only complaint is that it lasts 2 years (2 springs/2 falls). When it fails you get tiny plastic pieces in the pool. Does anyone make something that can last longer... probably; but not for the low price. I will be a return customer. ... show more

This product is garbage. If I could have given no star for this product I would have. I spent a lot of time reading reviews for this product and others this one offered a 7 year warranty (sounds to good to be true? It is) it also guaranteed that it would stand up to the UV rays, (which is exactly what I was looking for already knowing our sun is very harsh on things) so after hours & hours of reserch I went with this product because of the amazing warranty. Well DON'T be FOOLED like we were. In the description it talks about if you need to cut to resize to fit your pool don't worry it will still be covered under warranty but it says nothing about needing to take pictures if product doesn't hold up like they say. Ours stared falling apart after just a couple of months use at first the bubbles starting falling into the water so we were having to net them trying to keep them from going into the filter then the whole thing starting getting brittle. Mind you we did not cover the pool every day because we didn't need it on the warm days (and most of our summer is warm) so it stayed rolled up out of the water. When we were putting the pool up for the season that is when we realized how bad this solar cover really was definitley not able to use again and had to throw it straight into the trash. Once I finally got ahold of the selling company she told me they needed pictures before they can determine if they will replace the product and then she started making comments like some consumers don't take care of their product like putting in to much chemicals when I assured her that my husband tested our water often and knows what he is doing with the chemicals and has for years (now I am thinking they are going to just find me at fault no matter what). I then asked if I could get a refund because I would not want to go through all that trouble again with a product that just falls apart and causes me extra work they said the most they could do is ship me another one. I told her no thank you it is garbage they are selling. I very rarely complain about what I buy if it doesn't work but I don't want to see someone else waist their money or time on this product I also don't see how others gave more than 1 star unless they reviewed within a couple of weeks after using this product. Sorry I don't have photos to attach it was falling apart so bad we put it straight into the garbage can and didn't think to take any photos. AGAIN SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. ... show more

I wanted to chime in on this pool solar cover. Every other pool cover we have used before in the past 19 years only lasted two years, three if we were willing to put up with broken bubbles floating all over. We ordered this Sun2Solar cover in 2017 and it stayed good for five years. During the sixth year, the bubbles started falling apart. We uncover the pool repeatedly to swim during the fall, spring, and winter, so the cover had a lot of wear and tear. We have a fiberglass pool with a salt system, so we don't use a lot of chemicals. We ordered the clear because algae grows more readily under the blue covers. We do cover the reel holding this cover in the summer to protect it from the sun. That said, yes, the 10-year warranty is nonsense, but so are the warranties for the other covers we bought. However, this cover was the best we have ever had, and I just ordered another one. ... show more

Happy to report in my “dipping” pool of 10x16.5 it will hold the previous heat in by approximately 5* compared to no cover. I tested it with and without a cover overnight with similar temperatures and 3 times the pool was 5* warmer when I pulled it off in the am then if there was no cover.
