It works for me! Dr. Monika Chopra’s book is simple and straightforward. Each exercise is illustrated on the left page with text on the right page. The text explains how to do the exercise, what muscles are used, the effects on the muscles, and the difficulty level. I like that the illustrations are two-tone drawings of an average woman or man performing each exercise. I see two pages of diet talk which is just the right amount of information that I need. This book Strength Training with Dumbbells, by Dr. Monika Chopra, is one of the best books, ever, about strength training! The book is easy to read, understand, and follow. The exercise pictures, or drawings, are very clear making it a joy to do the exercise. You don't have to struggle to understand it. Very well done!   • Disappointed. Not as clear as it could be.
I bought this book because of the good reviews but was rather disappointed with it. I’ve seen dumbbell exercise posters that are better organized, have diagrams of the muscles being used and are clear and easy to use. Oh well.

I like the way the exercises are organized by upper and lower body & by each muscle group within that. The directions specify which muscles will be worked-out by the exercise, and the level of the exercise (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
