  • 🌿Comprehensive Book on Herbs+Herbal Remedies
🌿Amazing! This comprehensive Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine has an awesome wealth of relevant herbal information. It's an absolute must-have for those who are passionate about herbs, holistic healing and natural remedies. This is an important resource for those who care about their health and wellbeing, and that of their loved ones. The information in this book is of the highest quality, with all of the various body systems and active constituents of each plant explained, along with gorgeous color pictures all throughout. The book explains the history of herbal medicine, its present status, and where the future is headed, around the world. All herbs are broken down thoroughly in great detail, including their habitat and cultivation, their key actions, their traditional and current uses, the parts used, and their preparations and uses. The cautions are clearly stated, as are self-help uses and techniques. I love the easy remedies and doses that are listed for every ailment, and I feel greater confidence in my own ability to heal and advise others. Smartly, the back of the encyclopedia contains a general index, as well as an index of herbs by ailment. This makes it easy to find what you're looking for, since the herbs are not shown in alphabetical order, but appearing in alphabetical order of their plant species. It doesn't necessarily make things easier for the reader, but it makes absolute sense to do this. I LOVE this information-packed encyclopedia, and I deeply respect its experienced author, Andrew Chevallier. He is extremely knowledgeable and intelligent; I admire the way he shares this vital information with those of us who want to take back control of our health, one herb at a time. Natural herbs and holistic healing are so relevant and necessary in the midst of modern medicine, and this book proves exactly why. The Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine is an important, authentic step in the right direction, towards real, genuine, long-term health, wellness and happiness. I would recommend this book to nature-loving novices, gardeners, natural DIYers, experienced herbalists, tea formulators, aromatherapists, healers and chronic pain/illness warriors (like me). There is something here for everyone to learn something new, every single day of the year. This comprehensive book on herbal medicine will stand the test of time and prove to be relevant many years from now. Enjoy it and learn to heal the natural way!🌿 ... show more

  • Very informative!
I haven't read the book....but I have skimmed through and it seems very informative. The plants and herbs are listed under their scientific name, which I didn't care for, but there are pictures with the common name under the scientific name. It also gives some recipes in the back on to make tinctures, capsules, tonic wines, etc. I would recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to learn how to make natural/herbal medicines. ... show more

  • Absolutely gorgeous book! High quality.
This book arrived early. It was packaged very well! The front and back covers are hard and very sturdy. The spiral binding is also sturdy and well made. The actual pages are thick and glossy. This book is SO comprehensive. It covers so many areas. The art work is absolutely beautiful! It is a great addition to my homestead library. At first I thought the book was too expensive, but it came highly recommended so I took a chance. It is worth every penny! I can hardly wait to sit down and go through it page by page! So much amazing information. Very highly recommended!!! ... show more

  • Nice quality printing and picture reproduction
I like the book and looking at the pics and reading recommendations for creating an herbal garden. There are some recipes for making some herbal concoctions, but the authors are diligent about noting any characteristics of the herbs which need to be minded and do not offer recipes for serious ailments and medical conditions which is responsible of them. I had read that another book I almost bought printed original old recipes and recommended a sugar-based recipe and cinnamon for diabetes when sugar aggravates diabetes a great deal. I had wished for more herbal concoctions, but respect that the authors put safety first. Delivery and condition were prompt and perfect respectively. ... show more
