I ordered this pad for my barn cats so it needs to be on 24/7. This pad has a 24 hour option, but it's not 24/7. It turns off after 24 hours and that's not going to work for my purposes. Otherwise, it's a really nice pad. Soft, comfy and flexible with lots of temperature settings. If not for the 24 hour turnoff, I would have rated this a 5. ... show more

I purchased a couple of these, and they seem to do the job. It gets pretty cold in my part of the country, and these help keep the feral cats warm in the winter. Doesn't appear to affect the electric bill. Nothing complicated. Place one in the cat house and you're good. I gave 1 star and that's only because the padding is soft. I bought it to keep a neighborhood cat warm and its useless. So if you're getting for the same reason, don't! It barely gets warm and I mean barely. It'll NEVER keep an outdoor animal warm.
