Good aid for getting in and out of bed. I haven’t attached either the mattress strap or screw to my box spring frame as suggested. If I was using it to bear any weight or pull, I would. As I use it, as a light balance aid, it works great with just the mattress weight keeping it stable. Judge for your individual needs. I ended up removing the side handle as it took up too much space for me getting in and out of bed. Also, there are screw heads that are sharp on mine. I fell out of bed twice in two years and the first cause two broken ribs. The second gave me a black eye and a bruised knee. I do not want to fall out again so I got this and it is well designed, made out of solid material and easy to assemble. Truly a great buy.

The strap immediately broke. Even with a heavy duty tie down strap, the bar rotates. The weight of the mattress is not enough to hold the bar assembly in place. It rotates with gentle force. It was usable only after I bolted it to a piece of plywood.
