I ordered this to use with my potter’s wheel. Good quality. My only negative is that the adjustment is not quick like the Shimpo chair. For me it’s fine because I am the only one using it so I just had to adjust it once. If multiple people of different heights are using it, it might be a pain.

I got this for my classroom since I have a standing desk. It's great because of the cushion, but there are 4 screws that stick up into the cushion that I can sometimes feel. I can't understand why they designed it that way. But, it wasn't too hard to put together and it is very sturdy to sit on.

The good: I don't think the weld points on the ring are going to break on this like they did on the competing brand I purchased a year earlier. *Very* sturdy construction and for that, I give 5-stars. The bad: The feet. For some reason the rubber part of the foot is made oddly and the first one to get weird I couldn't figure out why it was wobbly so flipped it upside down to see. The rubber is supposed to surround/be held in place by a metal ball, but it had slipped up so only the ball is in contact with the floor -- not good for the floor at all! I tried to push it back into place with no luck. Then another foot did the same thing. Finally I took the extender legs off my old badly welded (but still sitting in the corner) stool and put them on this and I think I've got one good whole stool out of the corpses of two. Those feet are metal and smooth on the bottom - just like the old-school school chairs back in the day, so they'll last as long as they don't get wet and rust. Another bad: The rivets hidden by the seat cover. Why they'd use such a high profile rivet under a vinyl cover is beyond me. I give the vinyl a year at best before it wears through. But I can live with that, they make cushion/covers, but it is a very poor design that just shouldn't be. Conclusion: Of the 2 big brands of this type of stool, this one has an edge (I guess) only because the other brand had such shoddy welds it's like they were trying for the landfill - so this one wins on manufacturing. But the feet on this brand are a poorly executed design that you'll have to make sure doesn't damage your floors. ... show more
