I use this for the smith squat machine -- I'm only starting out so just squatting 70 lbs -- and it's great. I don't even need the straps b/c the pad fits around the bar easily, but when it does start to wear in the future, the straps are easy velcro on/off. I feel like this is a quality pad--it's way better than what's available at my gym due to overuse and other people's gross sweat...totally worth the under $10. ... show more

Great pad for the price. I initially considered pads with Velcro but opted for this one with straps and buckle for longevity as Velcro wears out over time. The pad material is quality foam that holds up well. I was suffering from shoulder pain when doing squats and since getting this pad three months ago I have had zero pain and am lifting more weight.
