The design on these dishes flakes off with normal use. I’m concerned about my family’s safety. I do not want paint flakes in our food. Purchased in late November, we followed all the care recommendations religiously and do not use harsh detergents in our dishwasher. I recently noticed a small gap appearing in the the design. The photos attached could be considered time-lapsed. The first shows the noticeable gap in the design upon removal from the dishwasher. The second reveals how the paint flakes off after I lightly ran my fingernail along the surface, the third was taken moments later. Imagine what the normal use of knives and forks on these plates would do to the design. Consider the small particles now mixing with your children’s food. I read in another review the purchaser found the design on the dinnerware “quickly faded.” I thought there might have been a manufacturing error so I reviewed the care & warranty information that came with the delivery. The paperwork clearly states “Limited one-year warranty”—and “promises to replace any MEKY glass dinnerware item with a manufacturing defect within one year from date of purchase.” However, when I check the Amazon site regarding the warranty, it states I must contact the manufacturer, but using the website listed for the manufacturer the search sends one back to Amazon. A reasonable person must conclude that 1) this product is not safe, 2.) the warranty is a scam, 3) the product is not worth purchasing at any price. I trust that both MEKY and Amazon will want to rectify this issue as soon as possible. ... show more
