I have had these dishes for two years and highly recommend them. For the price, it is unbeatable. These have the benefits of significantly higher priced dishes. They are a solid weight, which is an important factor in preventing them from being too hot to touch after microwaving. When filled with freshly brewed coffee, the mugs can be on the verge of being too hot to touch, but there is no issue if holding from the handles. I have a fireclay sink that could cause issues with weaker dishes. The handles on the coffee mugs have proven durable over time. I have never experienced a crack in the mugs, even where the handles meet the mugs. I have dropped dishes over time. These do not splinter or shatter into tiny pieces like comparably priced dishes. These crack into large pieces. I have endured chips and cracks in a bowl and plate. Neither broke apart further, despite hot or cold temperatures from microwave, dishwasher, or ice cream. I have not experienced any staining over time. The dishes clean very well in the dishwasher. The minimalist style, weight, and functionality of these dishes compare to sets that cost significantly more money at luxury brand stores. ... show more

We are setting up an AirBnB and this set is perfect for that use, inexpensive without looking "cheap" and neutral color to work into current setting while allowing for future changes in decor. Received these in the mail yesterday. I opened them up today and inspected them. The plates and saucers are indeed warped. They're uneven and don't sit flush with each other. These are a good starter set I guess. I expected more from Amazon. I try and buy Amazon brand if I can. Typically they have pretty good products that, price wise, equal competition. I've uploaded photos for others to view. Edit: I thought about this review and decided I should edit it. I've used the dish set several times since I received it. These work flawlessly. The defects do not hinder my ability to use them. The plates work regardless of their ability to sit flush on top of each other. I'm 25, what do I care if my plates are perfect? I make 45K a year and drink fifth's of whiskey that cost roughly $11. These plates are perfect for me. I'm not entertaining my bosses at my apartment and I'm not bringing my girlfriends parents back to my place to judge my dinnerware. I went ahead and upgraded these 1 star. This set is perfect for college students and those just out of college. It's even perfect for those of you that are moving in with your better half for the first time. They look nice, cost little, and you're not going to be terribly upset if he/she takes them if the relationship fails. The same goes for roommates. I think Amazon could do a lot better on these if they marketed this set as made for people in their 20's. ... show more

This is a great set of dishes, with one exception, they chip easily. We bought 6 sets of 4 settings, for our cottage, thinking these are inexpensive and easily hand washed, that was 9 months ago. Since then we’ve used 8-12 settings for the summer months, and we’ve gotten 3 chipped bowls and 5 chipped salad plates. I realize hand washing isn’t easy on plates if you’re not careful, but this seems like it’s above the “normal” damage you would expect from hand washing.
