  • Value for the money
Pattern Name: Stand Style: Pack of 1
The sections of rod could be improved, have them screw together instead of twist & click. Lack of sturdiness in the rods. The attraction disc provided works well in drawing the Japanese beetles in to the bag.

  • Saving plants
Pattern Name: Stand Style: Pack of 1
I was not a believer, but now I am. The hook holder was not as sturdy as I needed. Frequent blown over by the wind. However, I just picked it up and put it back in the ground. But the product worked great. Saved my flowers for a couple of summers.

  • Inexpensive, works, but is floppy
Pattern Name: Stand Style: Pack of 1
This review is for the metal stand to hold the Japanese Beetle trap & lure. It comes in short sections, so it would be easy to store for use next year. It does work. But it is very light duty, and bends & flops over. I even duct taped the joints, but the pole is still very flexible and floppy. So the bottom of the bag hangs very low to the ground. Even a light wind spins the whole contraption, so you can’t orient it. The price is certainly reasonable. But a $14 Shepard s hook from a big box store is much sturdier, is taller, and can be used for hanging plants when not needed for the beetle trap. ... show more

  • Flimsy and Useless once the bugs start to go in the bag
Pattern Name: Stand Style: Pack of 1
This is a flimsy pole, not nearly sturdy enough for the weight of the bag once bugs start to go in. After one day, it was leaning over halfway to the ground and therefore not at hte perfect height for the bugs to come as advertised on the package. We had to tie them to a sturdier garden pole which was cheaper than these to begin with. Save your $ and just get a garden pole for your bag a bugs. ... show more

  • 40 + Tea Hybrid Rose Bushes
Pattern Name: Stand Style: Pack of 1
WOW! This year was the worst Japanese Beetle year we have seen in a long time!! Even with 40+ tea hybrid rose bushes- all with medium to strong scent- we usually go around once every, or every other day walk around knocking them into jars to feed to the chickens. (Who get very excited when they see us with the jars btw! Lol!) However this year was horrible we were actually struggling to keep the bushes in enough leaves to survive, and about 4 first year bushes were on the verge of failure! So Spectracide bags & bait were deployed. We've used them in the past, and they are THE best on the market for bait & bags. Living out in the country even though the Japanese Beetle can smell a single bush for miles we do not usually require any treatments, but get 1 neighbor who buys a planted rose bush (vs barefoot), or 6 in our case, and they inadvertently bring the beetles home with them, and bam within a couple months there's an infestation! Because we live in the country things like raccoons, and opossums like to chew on the corner of the bags to get at the beetles, because if you have never used these bags - you are not going to believe how many beetles it amasses in a day! (If like us you live in the country pull the bags up in the evening, and put back the next morning to prevent that) That being said you have to do a few common sense things like - have the bags away from your plants, so they fly to the bags, not your plants, keep bait fresh (you can reuse the bags if your good with emptying them), the bait must smell stronger/sweeter than your plants. ALSO, and here's the big one we learned after 9 of our bushes were pushed to the brink (it only takes a week, or 2) is to put some bags between your plants, and your idiot neighbors house. It keeps them from ever getting to your bushes in the first place. **We DO recommend this product as experienced hybrid tea rose growers. AND in case you're wondering there are also other steps you can take. Taking the time to talk to your local extension office, or state horticulturist can give you heaps of information about other steps you should take depending on your specific area. ... show more

  • Definitely works
Pattern Name: Stand Style: Pack of 1
I was surprised this summer seeing these beetles eat thru entire bushes of my vegetable and fruit garden. But this spectracide really worked. In 3 days they were all gone. Unbelievable!! On day one I had to beat the plants with a cloth to get the comfortably settled Japanese beetles to fly around so they would smell the product. But by day 3 most were in the bag and none on my plants. Love this product. Sorry Beetles!! ... show more
