I bought this after the motor bearings in my 20 YO Black & Decker blower failed. Although lighter and more compact than my old B&D blower, this one seems equally effective at moving leaves with the blower attachment and mulching them with the vacuum attachment. The product listing claims it has a metal impeller, but the impeller is actually plastic with a barbed metal cutting blade attached. This arrangement probably works better at shredding leaves than an all-metal impeller would. However, there is already some wear evident on the tips of the plastic impeller vanes after one use. A word of caution about electric yard maintenance tools in general: Before this purchase I read reviews on most of the similar products available on Amazon. There are a lot of one star reviews that talk about motors overheating and failing. It is easy to overload the motors in most electric power tools. They are not like gas powered tools, where overloading the engine simply causes it to stall without any damage. Overloading an electric motor causes it to quickly overheat, and overheating will greatly reduce the service life of the motor. In addition, portable electric power tools are NOT designed to operate continuously at their rated power. Most of the electric leaf blowers listed here are rated at 12 or 13 Amperes. The motor in my table saw, which IS designed to operate continuously at its rated current of 13A, has a large metal case and weighs 25-30 lbs. It would be completely impractical for a portable power tool. In practice this means that my leaf blower should be operated at its 12A maximum rating only for short periods. Otherwise it will overheat and fail prematurely. Several reviews of similar products recommend raking leaves into a large pile and them mulching them from there as a time saver. This practice will vastly increase the flow rate of leaves into the machine, the load on the motor, and the current it draws. If you do this, be constantly alert for the smell of a hot motor. The ad for this shows people using the vacuum, without a strap and the bag going in the direction, toward the front of the tube. The instructions, say you need to use the strap, which is sewn to the middle of the bag, when vacuuming. The bag goes just like all the rest, by your hip. I would not have bought this, I wanted one I could use without a strap. Very cheaply made. This is why I hate shopping online, because of sellers like this. ... show more

In deciding between a really excellent leaf blower and a budget one, I went budget and picked this. Power per dollar, this really does a good job. I haven't yet tried the mulcher/vac features; those are gravy for me. The blower is strong enough to get the leaves out of my landscaping rock without blowing the rocks away. ... show more

This leaf blower is okay for household use not commercial. It is very easy to use though. It comes with great amount of power but the suction is not that great. I wish it comes with its own wire.

    • Bag defective
The unit works well. Bag must be thinner as after one use today on astro turf lawn w minimal leaves a hole in bag appears. I had just sent back the first one I bought. So 2 bags with a worn area in the same place. Asked for a better bag, but resolve was to send entire unit back.
