Features

  • Classic I3 Structure with Larger VolumeDifferent from most 3D printers run by wheels in the market, SV06 Plus has a classic I3 structure which avoids wear and tear of wheels and multiple replacements. 300x300x340mm printing size makes SV06 Plus unique among I3 structure 3d printers. Modular design allows you to assemble SV06 plus within 5 steps easily, more applicable for household use.
  • 250mm/s High Speed High Flow All Metal HotendAll Metal Hotend with larger melt zone enables you to print faster. High Flow up to 20mm3/s to achieve 250mm/s printing speed that greatly reduces the probability of clogging (180mm/s recommended for better printing quality). Working with SV06 Plus Klipper screen (does not come with the printer, need to purchase additionally), SV06 Plus can reach a fast and upgraded printing speed of 350mm/s.
  • 300C High Temp PrintingAll metal Hotend Setup makes it possible to print up to 300C. No need to deal with PTFE replacement anymore, and even no need to flash the firmware, you can print with different materials better and more easily. ( Enclosure is still needed if you want to print over 260C.)
  • Planetary Dual Gear Direct DriveSovol self-developed All Metal Direct Drive Extruder with planetary dual gear set, provide SV06 plus with higher drive ratio and a lighter motor, helps to achieve more accurate extrusion. Add large external knob for easy feeding.

  • 25-point Auto LevelingWith inductive sensor, SV06 Plus detects the metal print bed through 25 points automatically and compensate the unevenness of the heated bed. The fast, smart, precise detection and compensation help you to get the bed leveled perfectly and get an fantastic first layer. Note: Set the height of initial layer to 0.3mm when you slice that would help you to printer better initial layer and make the filament stick to the plate better.
  • PEI Build PlateThe flexible PEI-coated build plate with mesh surface design makes the prints can be removed easily without any tools.
  • Self-developed 32-Bit Silent BoardTMC2209 driver makes SV06 Plus work stably and quietly. UART mode is available, so that more modifications can be done easily for advanced users.

  • Very Good Printer At A Great Price
Size: Sovol SV06 Plus
I have used this printer for over a month, and have gone through around five spools of PLA, PETG, and ABS. This printer is very good. It can print faster than I would have expected for a larger bed slinger, and the print quality is excellent. I use Prusa Slicer with the Prusa MK3s/+ profile with a few simple changes. All I changed was the print volume and the starting gCode to auto bed level before each print. Works great. Everything sticks well to the print surface, and the prints slide off when completely cool. But when I’m impatient I can remove the flexible surface and bend the sheet to get the prints to pop off. I was a little surprised at how thin the bed and the removable sheet is. Maybe it’s thin by design to help avoid ringing on the prints. So I was concerned that it would not heat evenly. But the bed heats even enough, and has insulation on the bottom to help it heat a little quicker, and may help with evenly heating the bed. The auto bed leveling is accurate. This printer is easy to assemble and I had it printing in about 20 minutes. I only had difficulty attaching the power supply to the frame. This step seemed easy because it is only two screws. Maybe it’s just me, but I had a heck of a time getting the holes to line up. I think that the power supply should have been mounted lower, against the base of the fame. This would not only make the holes easier to line up, but would give the gantry a little more support by using the power supply case as a brace. Maybe they don’t have a consistent source of power supplies and this is not possible. Whatever. This printer (at least mine) came with a 500 watt power supply. I have never seen one rated so high on a 3D printer. I’m pretty sure it never draws more than 200, or 250 watts. But I like Sovol using a 500 watt power supply since using a larger power supply than needed will avoid the power supply getting hot under high loads, and may last longer. But this is not a known brand power supply. The printer is quite, and uses sensorless homing. The only irritating noise comes from the power supply fan, but this printer is next to six other printers so I really don’t care. No printer is perfect, and this printer has some odd design choices but easy enough to fix and not required. The first thing I thought was odd was the part cooling. While it works fine, maybe I would give it a ‘B’ grade, the placement of the part cooling blocks my view of the nozzle which is a bit inconvenient. So I printed a new part cooling duct that uses a 5015 blower. Now I can easily see the nozzle, and this also makes changing the nozzle A LOT easier (more on nozzles below.) While the new part cooling does work a little better, the original design was good enough. I guess I would say I went from a ‘B’ to a ‘B+’. So not needed for print quality, but makes everything else easier. The other odd choice is the nozzle. This has a volcano type hot end, which makes sense for a larger printer. But the printer only comes with 0.4 nozzles, and I would expect most people would want to use at least a 0.6 or a 0.8 on a large printer, since you are probably using this to print larger things. But they didn’t include any larger nozzles. And the really odd thing is that standard volcano nozzles do not work because Sovol modified the nozzle to have a longer tip. So I purchased a set of nozzles from Sovol’s website. They were very inexpensive and arrived in less than a week. And upgrading the part cooling on this printer made changing nozzles a breeze. This printer works great with OctoPrint, but for some odd reason the display no longer responds after doing auto bed leveling when sending a print through OctoPrint. No big deal, and I may dig into the firmware or starting gCode to see what is going on. But since I primarily use OctoPrint, It’s not a concern. The printer comes with a filament runout sensor, but why do so many manufactures have the sensor so far away from the extruder? It seems like everyone is placing the sensor near the spool and this can waste about a foot of filament if you run out during a print. Ya, it’s just 12 inches of filament, but I have so much waste already from 3D printing. I guess that is just a pet peeve of mine, and nothing more. I like that the spool holder has bearings that helps the filament spool roll easier, and that is a nice touch. But, it sometimes rolls TOO good and can lead to a tangle. And this did happen to me while printing with a new, full spool of filament. I’m not sure that the bearings are needed except when printing with TPU. Sovol does sell a blue PLA that matches the blue color of the printer perfectly. This is nice for printing things such as my Pi4 case to run OctoPrint. Unfortunately, they do not sell ABS (or PETG) in this color, but I found that ESUN ABS closely matches the Sovol blue for the part cooling duct I printed (see the picture.) I’m just posting a review of the printer, but I figure I’ll mention that Sovol only sells their PLA in a pack of two. So if you want to buy the blue PLA from Sovol, you have to buy it with a white or pink spool. I only have one of these Sovol SV06 Plus printers, so I can’t say much about quality control. Mine is good, and I have no issues at all. But they are obviously not using Misumi bearings (since Misumi bearings would be about half the price of the printer) and most cheap Chinese bearings are typically garbage. But mine are fine and I don’t hear any rattling. I guess I’ll have to see how long they last. I don’t have any spares since all my other printers have 8mm rods, not the 10mm rods Sovol uses on the SV06 Plus. By the way, I’m impressed that they use 10mm rods. So if you are on the fence about buying this printer, I would go for it. (I did!) It is mostly well designed and prints great. I’m not sure how they can sell a printer like this at such a good price. Considering the bar is set so low for 3D printers, the Sovol SV06 Plus definitely gets five stars compared to most other printers. It’s not a Prusa or Bambu Lab, but does have a 300mm x 300mm print surface. And is significantly less inexpensive than those. It’s honestly hard to tell the difference comparing the final print quality of the three printers. ... show more

  • At this price point, best build volume, quality, speed and features in a very respectable package.

The media could not be loaded. Short(ish) version: I'm a medium-level 3D printing enthusiast, 3 years of mixed experience/results with an Ender 3 since 2020. I picked up the SV01 Pro in October 23 and it was so easy to build and use, but I wanted more build area, plus a second printer so I could run concurrent print jobs. I did a fair bit of research and determined the SV06 PLUS to be a solid value. Purchased this guy November of 23, and holy cow was that it a good decision. I mean, here are some of the important boxes this printer checks for me: 1) More build volume 2) Higher print speed capable 3) Self-leveling (not perfect but shockingly good!) 4) Pause/Resume when it runs out of filament (more details below how this saved my six-day print) and 5) In general terms, for my uses, this was a wonderful next step in my 3D printing hobby. Honestly, I can say my new printers have made printing FUN again, and I get to spend time printing again instead of constantly calibrating in between prints. More details: I'm not here to trash Enders, especially since my Ender got me into the hobby (January 2020). I did however eventually get tired of the bed leveling, failed prints, and constant babysitting. To tell the truth, I was hardly printing any more come 2023. My coworker was talking about this SV01 Pro he got cheap and how reliable it was. I said why not, got myself an SV01 and was just instantly having a GREAT time! My only problem - I had the desire to print larger stuff. I joined the Sovol groups on Reddit and FB, and did a lot of reading. The clear consensus was that the SV06+ is one of the best bang for the buck printers available in general. I chose the standard (read: non Klipper) model. Klipper is a whole other (and interesting) topic but I'm not looking to address that in this context, I may tinker with it on my Raspberry Pi later, but I'm just running things stock. So the SV06 arrives, and within about 30 minutes I had assembled it and started the leveling process. As soon as that was done I connected my Raspberry Pi with OctoPi and set up a printer profile so I could print from my PC instead of using the SD slot. I'll go ahead and mention the con I have with this printer because this is where you'll notice it too: The power supply has a significantly loud fan. It's not a deal breaker for my situation because my printers are in the basement, but trust me about the noise of the power supply in case that would be a problem for you. Anyway, It's been about 4-5 weeks of non stop printing for me. I've shared several photos, and one video for this review. I printed a cool marble track model but should have scaled it up in size because it would only fit smaller ball bearings. Turns out the SV06 was big enough to increase the model to a size where I could use regular marbles! The model took up most of the build volume on the SV06 and would provide a great stress test. This beast was a 6-day print and on day 4 when the spool of filament ran out, the filament sensor on the printer paused it automatically, moving the hot end to the side so I could mount a new spool and load the filament. Then I hit resume (holding my breath because I hadn't actually tried this before) and it just picked up where it left off. If you check my video, you can see the finished product which is pretty cool - it has an Archimedes screw that lifts the marbles back up where they randomly fall out to the 4 different tracks and down again. Summary - I hope this helps someone that's on the fence! Potential buyers should be aware of the loud fan on the power supply, but I can sincerely recommend my SV06 plus based on my experience. It's fast, it has been reliable, it successfully printed a monster print for me (hopefully the first of many), and it's been easy and fun to use. I still don't know if I'd call it a "beginner" printer, but I've been teaching my son and he picked it up right away. We're having a blast printing organizers and accessories for a bunch of our favorite tabletop games. Two thumbs up! ... show more

  • Poor Support - Not Recommended
Size: Sovol SV06 Plus
Updated Review: We had the extruder nozzle snap off and become bound in the hot end. The nozzle looked like it was made of very low quality metal so we are likely to look for a more durable replacement. I contacted Solov customer service and they informed me that since it was purchased on Amazon we needed to contact a separate support group. Ok, so that group was initially helpful and it looked like they were going to handle the replacement as expected, but suddenly they just stopped responding to email and provided no updates. I ended up just buying a replacement part directly from Solov. Due to my customer support experience, I can't recommend this at all. Original Review: Updated with Klipper Pad: Still an amazing 3D printer that produces outstanding prints. Here are some additional observations - The out of filament sensor works great and the software allows for seamless continuation. The print times are really fast, with good quality. I really like the heated bed and good first layer adhesion. Original Review: This Solov 3D printer is what 3D printers should have been all along. We were early 3D printer adopters and have 4 other models from various manufacturers going back several years, but none of them worked well out of the box. Setup and calibration took us about an hour or so and the provided instructions were easy to follow. We made a few test prints with the included PLA spool, including the articulated Dragon shown in the picture. The detail and speed with the default settings was quite impressive. Be sure to watch the many available videos on setting up, tuning, and using this 3D printer. Highly Recommended! CFH ... show more
