I opened the pillow up and it immediately puffed up. I really like the harness of the pillow. Like it supports your head but not overly firm. I do notice the standard size is a little smaller than I thought so just be careful with the size

Perfect amount of firmness, I’ve slept a few nights on it now and it supports my neck nicely. There was a faint smell when it came but once I left it to air out for a day it disappeared. All in all a great purchase.
