    • Helps a lot!
This is an interesting situation, demonstrating to me that what you need and what you like are often different things. Four years ago I was hit on my bike head-on by a car driving on the wrong side of the road. This resulted in neck, spine, and shoulder injuries that weekly physical therapy barely keep at tolerable levels. Pain is especially bad in the morning, or whenever I remain stationary too long. I have gone through several types of beds trying to minimize this problem, and quite a few pillows, including solid memory foam, down, poly fill, and others. A ComfortAir bed and adjustable frame offered some relief to my shoulders, but did little for my neck unless the head was adjusted to about a 30 degree angle. Changing pillow types didn't seem to make any difference to the pain, so I settled for the one I liked the best - soft down pillows. After reading pillow reviews on the 'Sleep-like-the-dead web site, I decided to try the only pillow type I hadn't previously tested, the shredded memory foam pillow. I was skeptical, because the solid memory foam pillows seemed to be too hard and heavy, had a strong chemical odor that triggered asthma, and didn't really do anything to help the pain levels. My hope was that the shredded foam pillow would be a compromise between the block memory foam and the soft down pillows. I received my pillow on a Friday, washed it to remove the faint chemical odor, (completely gone after the wash) and gave it a try. I was initially disappointed after down pillows, it felt very firm and unnatural, and the small lumps felt very prominent when I was handling the pillow. I didn't sleep very well the first night - the small lumps felt by hand were not noticeable to my face, but the firmness was enough to keep me shifting around and partially waking throughout the night. But the next morning my neck was much less painful than usual. The second and third nights was pretty much like the first try, except my neck felt even better in the mornings. I wondered if it was coincidence, a placebo effect, imagination, or really a helpful pillow, and decided to stick it out for a while longer to see if I could get used to the firmness and sleep better, and see if the pain levels would continue to drop. Monday I had my usual physical therapy session, but in the first 3 minutes of working on me the therapist asked what I was doing differently, as it was much easier to work on the neck muscles, there was less tightness, and alignment was somewhat better than normal! I explained that I was trying a new pillow, and she said "don't stop using it". It has been about 3 weeks now, and I am sleeping better than before (except when I fluffed the pillow in the dryer, which made it thicker and took a couple days to get back to 'normal'.) I no longer need the head of the bed elevated to keep from waking up in pain, I installed the extra pillow cover, which further smoothed out the minor lumps, but seemed to make the pillow even more firm. My neck pain has leveled off at a new lower level, much more tolerable, and the therapist says the muscles and neck/shoulder alignments continue to be at much better levels than before, proving that the down pillows I like are not what I need. I would like a softer pillow, but not if it means more neck pain. The small lumps of shredded material could be smaller, but that might change the effectiveness of the pillow, maybe? The pillow seems a bit thick to me, especially the first few nights after being fluffed, but the Physical Therapist feedback (and the improved pain levels) make me reluctant to mess with what is working. And actually, after 3 weeks, I am reasonably used to the more firm and dense pillow. It doesn't have the overwhelming stink of the premium block memory foam I tried (My wife uses it, and after a year it still has a chemical odor!), and is more comfortable as well. So I would give it 3 stars for initial comfort, moving up to 4 stars as I grew used to it - And 5 stars for the most important part - pain relief. ... show more

    • Very good for side sleepers
I'm a side sleeper and I was happily surprised with the overall size, softness, and firmness of this pillow, the filling was enough and I didn't reduced it. NOTE: If you have very wide shoulders and are a side sleeper, this won't do: I'd say try the NTCOCO 2 Pillows, Shredded Memory Foam (2-pack) which we also loved, it's very wide to fit wide shoulders of side-sleepers, or you can take out the filling to adapt to your neck. ... show more

    • Sleep Tight
Very nicely made. Top control in manufacturing. Bought the cover as well. Ends up being a little pricey but your not buying any knock off for sure. At first it took me by surprise just cause of the roll up incased in plastic. Have to admit this is a well laid out plan. I did not put this in the dryer and did allow it to fill out for 2-3 days. Still felt stiff so the other night I put in the dryer for 20min on gentle cycle and pulled this out several hours later. So, it felt quite better and lighter to the touch. Shape is still holding up. This is no lightweight pillow, still has some weight to it. In regards to my sleeping habits I tend to sleep on my side, with this in mind that never changes and I don't move around much either. Still find this pillow is maybe overfilled a bit for me. Jury is still out. I adjust for a nice comfortable fit and this works and I sleep just fine. No better no worse. The quality don't get me wrong is excellent and u can't say anything bad about that. Maybe I have never really slept with a good pillow ever and that's the real truth so what do I know ?     • Superb pillows AND superb customer service!!!
I purchased 2 Snuggle-Pedic standard pillows several weeks ago. I had done a lot of reading/comparing on bamboo/memory foam pillows.……had read reviews until nearly blind trying to decide which product to go with. I’d been seeing the TV ads for bamboo/memory foam pillows for over a year and almost went with them just because I didn’t know ‘why not’but I was worried the pillow might be too thick for us. Finally, with the 20 year warranty against flattening out or losing support, the fact they are made in the USA, plus the 90 day sleep trial….how could I go wrong with a Snuggle-Pedic? Note: we have been using down pillows for over 20 years because I have a very short neck (can’t use ‘fat’ pillows) and my husband has nerve damage in his neck and also can’t use very thick pillows. We’ve tried other traditional foam pillows and hated them….we also tried wool-filled which came close to down in comfort (and cooler) but they did flatten over time and weren’t washer-friendly either. So, we got our pillows and I put them in the dryer to fluff them up as directed. They came out HUGE. Great if you can use a fat pillow, but….. We used them the first night and neither one of us could sleep on them. The next day, I emailed ReliefMart and explained the problem we had. They immediately sent me an email with an attached form to describe the problem fully, indicate how much fill I thought would need to be removed for the pillows to work for us, and a shipping label. I wasn’t sure of the answer on removing fill, so I called and talked to a customer service representative and asked how to determine if I need to have 1/4, 1/3, or ½ removed and what if I made the wrong decision? He laughed, explained what I could expect from the options and reminded me that I was within the 90 day sleep warranty and, if the pillows came back to hard/soft, I could return them again for additional adjustment. Unbelievable - plus, they paid for the shipping both ways! I marked my choice, send the pillows back and waited about 2 weeks and they were back. I had mentioned in the form that I wished I had purchased queen size, but was sure the standard would be fine with the adjustment. Fluffed the pillows in the dryer and thought “well, this looks do-able.” We put them on our bed and tried them out for a week. They are PERFECT. If I want to adjust the filling in bed, I simply reach up and push the filling with my fingers or knuckles to conform it. Some nights I want different adjustments than others! My husband is basically a back sleeper and I think he snores a bit less - still snores, but not as badly. I haven’t had to wake him up and tell him to roll over because I can’t sleep! Now, after a bit more than a week, I have to say we couldn’t be happier with our decision and with the support we got from ReliefMart on their Snuggle-Pedic pillows. The fact that I can wash these is a definite plus, but I would have been content if I couldn’t since I couldn’t wash the down pillows. I have also tried to wash regular flat sheet foam pillows in the past with disastrous results. Bottom line: BUY IT. I don’t see how you can go wrong with 20 year and 90 day warranties and customer service reps that are friendly, knowledgeable, actually listen to your concerns and address them. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase more pillows if I had need of them.….oh! and by the way, they even sent me queen sized pillows in the exchange because I ‘wished’ I had purchased them.
