Seriously though, it works as it's supposed to. But it doesn't periodically turn on and off: you need to remember to shut it off at some point. Even the lower half of the settings doesn't make it switch back and forth; it's strictly on or off. I only used I setting as it heats up quite fast, and it's cold so..no reason to turn on the fan.. This product doesn't have a remote or a timer on it. I love the tip over feature that if the product tips, the heater turns off. Great safety feature. Puts out a lot of heat. My office is nice and toasty warm with this heater.

    • Can't Beat the Instant Heat!

Overall this is a relatively small ceramic tower heater (Model Number: PTC-SH007AR) for use in a bathroom or small room. It comes with a very simple/easy to use remote control, strong fan and a good long power cord. It heats up quickly and oscillates, however the plug is not a safety plug (only 2 prong) and there is no way to use the ECO mode sensibly at a temperature that could save energy (68-72 degrees Fahrenheit). Per the seller: "If it is too hot in ECO mode, it is recommended that you adjust the low mode and lower the temperature. Because ECO is a fixed temperature, to ensure the effect of energy saving, but can not adjust the heat". The "fixed" temperature they are referring to is 79 degrees which is a design flaw in our opinion. Also, the unit does not power on by supplied remote (must press button on top of the unit) and it does not stop fan, oscillation or go to some type of standby mode when the desired temperature (set by user) is reached. The mode settings are "High, Low, Fan & ECO". so we chose the "Low power mode" with the thermostat set for 70 degrees Fahrenheit and it seems to be doing the job. The instruction manual is good size with legible and clear instructions (other than the ECO setting) which should be read in advance of use as there is important information including Safety Instructions, Specifications, Control Panel, Operations/Functions, Troubleshooting and Cleaning/Maintenance instructions. Bottom Line: There isn’t too much to dislike about this item (even though we cannot use the ECO setting we hoped for), so we are giving it an overall 4 star rating due to ease of use, oscillation feature, versatility, functionality with an “Auto OFF Timer” and excellent heat output. Therefore, we do recommend this item as you “Can’t Beat the Instant Heat!” however we strongly recommend the manufacturer/seller consider upgrading the heater with an ALCI Safety Plug and a better ECO setting which should be adjusted to a lower more reasonable temperature. ... show more
