I have it in my garage where I have a little gym space. Garage is mostly insulated so that helps. But this little heaters heats up a 20x20 space within 20 minutes. It’s not like toasty or anything but it takes the edge off enough to get in there and start moving. I usually turn it off after it runs for about 1/2 hour. ... show more

    • Great heater, however...
This is a very nice heater, and it does it's job really well. I use it to heat part of my home (approx. 800 sqft), as I said it does the job very nicely, however... The unit's fan never shuts down. I use the temperature control at 70*, and when the unit gets the room to that temperature, the heat shuts down, but the fan continues to stay on which then just blows cold air. I've tried all the controls and referenced the manual, but can't find anything to indicate I'm doing anything wrong. The heater is near a large chair I use for reading, and when I'd like to maintain my warmth, I get hit with cold air when the heat goes off.. this is very frustrating and why I can't give the unit 5 stars, and possible 4 is being too generous. Every other heater I've ever used like this has always turned the fan off after the heat got up to temperature.. plus I can't imagine that the fan being on constantly is good for the fan, I feel that it's going to wear out prematurely. ... show more

    • Don't waste your money...
A phenomenal concept so poorly executed, I can not even rationalize keeping it. Where do I begin... First off, when you open the box to find pieces and a bag of screws, with NO assembly instructions, that should be your first clue trouble looms. As you go through the Instruction manual that does come with it, and see things like "operating" spelled "operationg", or sentences worded "Why does the heater is releasing.." and "Why we cannot adjust temperature when we under...", you know this is going to be just another cheap piece of Chinese junk. And low and behold...it is! Product description and instruction manual continually refer to the "ECO mode", however there is no "ECO mode" identified on the unit itself, but rather "auto"...meaning you use the thermostat to set your desired temperature. Both the product description and the instruction manual then go on to say that in this mode, when the room reaches the set temperature, the "fan will release cool air to protect the motor and keep the thermostat (cool)...shutting off after 30 seconds." (the word "cool" is missing from the instruction manual also :) ) Turns out, the fan never shuts off...it runs constantly. What sense does it make to run the heater to warm up the room, only to have the fan stay on constantly to cool the room back down????? Unbelievable!!! As for the heat output itself....extremely, extremely poor. I ran mine in the "high heat" mode...it took forever to heat up a very small bedroom space (approx 96 square feet). I have a small ceramic style heater (the same heating element design as this one) that is about 9"x9", made by Pelonis, that puts out twice as much heat as this one when it is in the "low heat" mode!! I should have read the reviews a little closer before I ordered this unit. The same shortcomings in the product design and execution are also noted in numerous other reviews. How Amazon can show this as having "4 stars" is beyond me. This unit is, as mentioned before, nothing but Chinese junk. I will be returning mine as soon as the more reputable branded heating unit I ordered arrives. ... show more

The heater works great for taking the chill out of my open plan living room/dining room. The only drawback is the limited range for the remote. *Update* After a few years my original heater gave out on me a couple of months ago, so I bought a second one. But there was something wrong with it. It would make a clicking sound every 3 to 4 minutes when the light up fireplace was turned on. So I decided to get a replacement for the new heater. I was very impressed at how fast the company sent out the replacement. And they even gave me a prepaid return shipping label for the defective one. ... show more

    • More show than anything. Might be great for a very small space
So I didn't think this was the best simply because of the heat it neglected to put out. It looks really pretty. The fake flame is a nice addition as the is the remote. However, it just boils down to getting warm and this didn't quite do it for me.

    • Not worth the price point
While the heater looks cool, looks can be deceiving. The build is severely disappointing for the price and features. It feels flimsy and cheap, not to mention it hardly works. 1. The heater lacks a safety tilt switch when knocked over. 2. Heating performance is poor, barely gets hot enough to warm a medium size room even 2 degrees after running for several hours. 3. The remote barely works even with a fresh battery (you need to aim at a very specific area). Overall it should not be worth more than $70. ... show more
