🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Skil 10'' Miter Saw is highly praised by customers for its accuracy in making cuts and excellent value for its price point. Users appreciate its precision, portability, power and consistency, despite being a moderately-priced tool compared to others in the same category. However, issues regarding the dust collection system and the short power cord were also raised.

Pros

  • 🔧 Extremely accurate and easy to adjust angles
  • 💪 Loads of power for heavy-duty projects
  • 💼 Highly portable and durable
  • 💵 Great value for money

Cons

  • ❗ Inadequate dust collection system; bag fills up quickly
  • 🔌 Short power cord that requires use of an extension in certain scenarios.
  • 👀 Shadow line positioning may seem counter intuitive to some users

Should I Buy It?

If you are seeking for a miter saw that offers excellent value for money, has ample power for heavy-duty tasks, and don't mind some minor shortcomings such as a short power cord or a less than perfect dust collection system, then the Skil 10'' Miter Saw is definitely a worthwhile investment.

  • For the price? You simply can’t beat it.
Style: 10" Miter Saw
This thing is FANTASTIC. Its 15-amp motor delivers up to 4,800 RPM, allowing for quick and detailed cuts. The dual bevel feature enables cuts at 48° and 45° to the left, and 0° and 45° to the right, with four positive stop positions, providing versatility for various cutting needs. It came accurate out of the box, no adjustment was needed (however it’s always recommended to check and make sure it’s properly adjusted). The shadow line is sweet and a welcome addition at this price. I recommend a miter saw stand for it, but you can get by using it on a desk if necessary. Overall though, this miter saw is a reliable and efficient choice for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. ... show more

  • Nice. Smooth working. Cuts like butter.
Style: 10" Miter Saw
A most affordable and well made sliding compound chop miter saw. Easy to carry. Not heavy at all.

  • Very well made Saw, Works very precisely does a beautiful job.
Style: 10" Miter Saw
I love the ease of operation and how well it makes beautiful clean cuts. The unit is well made and works flawlessly. Smooth operation and easy to make any project look profesional. The degree's are marked and detents lock in at the most common angles. Bang for buck it can't be beat, it has all of the important features you want and need, and glides effortlessly through most pieces of wood. I have been using mine lately for composite decking material and each cut is smooth and slag free, just like a hot knife going through butter it does the job. ... show more

  • Does it cut well.
Style: 10" Miter Saw
It does cut well. The price point is very good at 250 to 300 Dollars. You will have a better sight line since the saw motor is beveled up and out of the way. the blade is gear driven and after using this saw for 1 and a half years its still running great. The saw comes with a shadow line to indicate where it will cut. This works okay, but might be better with a red laser indicator. ... show more

  • A really good saw for the money
Style: 10" Miter Saw
I have a decent compound miter saw, but I wanted the extra capacity of a slider. I'm a casual hobbyist and cannot justify spending a ton on the "big" models, plus my shop is small so I needed to be able to stash it away when I wasn't using it, so after watching some online video reviews I decided to give this saw a try, and I built a mobile miter station cart for it. All in all, I'm very pleased. I really like the shadow line, and most of the advertised features work very well. But I can't give it 5 stars because the bevel adjustment was much more difficult than it should have been, and the snap-lock doesn't seem to function very well to catch it in the common bevel positions ... perhaps there is something not quite right with the saw I got, I don't know. I eventually got it dialed in, but the process wasn't as smooth as shown in the instructions. As a result, I will likely keep my old CMS around for doing compound angles (e.g., crown molding, etc.), while this saw will be my main saw for the other more common uses such as square cuts and flat miters. ... show more

  • really great saw for the money
Style: 10" Miter Saw
I cant think of anything I dislike about this saw. It cut's true and has all the adjustments I need for the kind of work I do. It's at home on a job site but it would also make a great shop chop saw.

  • Havent used it yet but....
Style: 10" Miter Saw
I will come back later and leave a review once I use it. BUT my old miter saw is a 10 inch Ryobi. Very small...and lightweight. Easy for this old gal to carry in and out of storage but it had all kinds of things wrong with it. Never got straight cuts from it..locking handles broke. It was a mess. So I bought this due to the price and everything it offered, I wanted. Well I got it shipped to me and DANG..its VERY heavy and VERY big. I was not expecting that at all. I waited to have help to move it. In the meantime, I built a solid wood table to sit inside of a small metal shed. Bought shed just for the saw. Sigh. Anyway...built heavy wood table to fit...drilled holes into table and bolted saw to table. It aint going nowhere now. BUT the shed being small..i knew a 2x4x8 wouldnt fit in the shed..soooo I cut a hole in the side of the building to be able to run a board out the side...then i covered the hole with a rubber type flap. I have not used the saw yet since its only been a week...but it looks big and scary. LOL I am use to using small tools. I still need to learn to use it but it looks pretty simple. I will update once I have used it...but I am happy with my purchase so far. The shed..thats another story. UGH. I can say one thing..this will be alot better for cutting small plywood type projects or 2x6 or larger boards. I dont like using hand saws. I can never get a straight cut. My hands arent that strong to hold on like that. Maybe I needed a table saw too. Thats next and sawhorses. For yrs I have used crappy plastic cheap sawhorses that fall down on me all the time and no place to cut. an uneven yard is the best i have. But I am excited to finally have something descent to use...as i said..i will update once i have used it for a project. UPDATE: Have cut a few boards and used the bevel also....works very well. I like it. Still learning all the knobs but it is good. I am happy with it. (I added pics) ... show more
