Review of Silk'n Hair Straightener. This is a fantastic straightener! It heats up quickly and is quite wide, so I think it will suit all density and length of hair (mine is medium dense and shoulder-length). I also like that it comes with a travel/storage case to prevent damage, especially given the price of the straightener. I do think the cost is a tad bit higher than I would normally pay, but it has been about 20 years since I bought a straightener and I will be the first to admit that that purchase was NOT to the quality of this one, both in technology and construction! ... show more

This is a great straightener. Gets hot super fast. Looks so nice and sleek. I like I'm able to lock to close so easy to store. Comes with a bag I thought the bag was heat resistant but it's not I was smelling a burned smell and seen the bag was changing color. It's really easy to use . Easy to do my hair in minutes and cuts time on doing my daughter's long hair. I hope it will last a long time. ... show more

    • Works well but high priced
While I think the Silk'n Hair Straightener does a great job with straightening my hair, I'm not sure why it's priced so highly. I'm assuming it's because of the infrared light which is supposed to prevent over-drying of the hair. PROs: Heats up super fast! I love that the control buttons are on the inside of the product. Prevents turning the iron off or changing your temperature in the middle of styling. The cord is VERY long at 8 feet. Also has a velcro strap. Automatic turn off after 45 minutes. It seems to glide through my hair smoothly and straightens nicely. CONs: The top of the straightener is cool, but the outside of the straightener is pretty hot to the touch. While I do like that it came with a storage bag, I"m not entirely positive that it is heat resistant unlike others that come with straighteners. The price is my main negative. I'm just not sure that there is anything super special about this product to justify it having such a high cost. ... show more

    • Gets hot crazy fast
I love how quickly this got to full heat which is 450 F and that it has a digital display which shows the temperature as it gets hot. It has a lock to keep it closed which is perfect for storage. Has a little Velcro strap for the cord too. The storage bag is also a heat mat to set it on. I have thick hair so I sectioned it in half and this straightened my hair quickly and it just glides over my hair. This has an infrared lights that’s supposed to be less damaging for your hair. This straightener is so easy to use and it works great! It came with a really nice heat resistant carrying pouch. It has a lock on the side to be able to lock it closed and has a hanging loop as well. It heats up very quickly and straightens my naturally curly hair easily. In the picture I posted of the straighter hair was just a few passes with the straightner. It is definitely worth the money! ... show more

    • Smooth sleek straight hair with shine
I use heat protectant and it does give me some added shine but after using this to straighten my hair it was so much smoother and had a nice sleek shiny finish to it. The heat was even all through the plates and I didnt have to keep going back over the same areas. I did small sections and saved time not redoing the same process for a good finish. My style also held up longer and the heat didnt fry or dry out my hair at all and leave signs of damage. ... show more
