Description

Signal generator kit, XR2206 precise function signal generator frequency module signal generator DIY kit sine triangle square output adjustable 1hz-1mhz, 9-12v dc input 1. The welding installation considerations, follow these steps: 2. The components are welding the front board, from low to high principles, namely the first low welding components, such as, capacitor, resistor, diode, etc. 3. Welding IC socket, terminal blocks, finally power socket, adjustable potentiometer. Insert the power supply, power supply for 5.5 x 2.1 port, inside and outside is negative polarity; Fitting for 9-12 v power supply voltage, and the waveform may not be stable for more than 12V. Debugging steps: 1. After completion of welding on IC, XR2206, you need to pay attention to the direction of IC, or insert the might damage the chip! 2. Check IC for errors, if any, please correct in time. • Fun to build, works, cheap signal generator
Item Package Quantity: 1
This is a great cheap little kit considering it includes a case and knobs. Tips: 1. Check online for all sorts of tips 2. Make sure all parts are soldered tight onto the board since the case holds the board in place by everything just fitting tightly. Example is IC socket as well as variable resistors. 3. Two of the tall capacitors fit better if you lay them down on the board or else they can push on the case. 4. I needed to just slightly file one of the case tabs so I did not need to force it in. 5. If you have not build one of these inexpensive kits and their plexi case. Just be patient and enjoy the process. Example pealing paper of of the plexi does take time but will work. 6. The 4 short screws are for alignment and spacing to the case bottom. You may need to slide them a little in their board holes, just loosen and re-tighten them, to get them to align with the holes in the case bottom. 7. After soldering you need to trim all the parts such as caps and resistors but ALSO other parts such as the power connector. Put the bottom part of the case on, after inserting the 4 short screws and nuts, to see what all should be trimmed. PROS 1. Cheap 2. Works fine when built 3. You get a nice little case and knobs 4. Fun little project CONS 1. No real instructions at all. Just a faded circuit diagram and parts list. The diagram is correct and the circuit board is stenciled well so you can work this out without any help. 2. Zero instructions on the case. As mentioned above the 4 small screws are attached to the circuit board via the 4 nuts and are use to align the board to the case and the nuts act as spacers. The long screws hold the case together without nuts, they just screw into holes in the case and work fine as such. Be careful since I same some builds online that skipped the 4 small screws. ... show more

  • Close, but no cigar
Item Package Quantity: 2
This is almost a very nice little kit, but misses the mark. The instructions have all the issues people describe, but I don't mind. The resistors color codes all seem to use the same ink too, but that's okay too. Again, these are the kinds of issues any normal child who used to assemble kits like this had to deal with. You should be able to manage it too. The key problems are: 1) There is a 4.5V DC offset on the output. This makes this unusable for most applications. It'd cost 4 cents in parts to have a voltage divider, or 50 cents to have one with an op-amp, so the output would be in the middle. 2) The sine wave has huge distortion. It's like a rounded triangle wave. Unfortunately, those make it unusable, even for most hobbyist use. Yes, I can modify it to address these, but it's a simple enough circuit that I can also make something decent myself in just about the same amount of time as modifying this one. I'd love to have a kit like this, maybe for $5 more, but with these issues fixed. Even better would be to provide pots (maybe little ones) to give access to all the other adjustments on the XR2206. It's a pretty versatile chip. It can do amplitude modulation (with one more connector), tune distortion, and have symmetry adjustments. ... show more

  • It's a Kit with a Case...
Item Package Quantity: 1
11/18/21 - This update is to point out - this is an inexpensive kit that could help someone interested in electronics to learn electronics. Are parts missing? Mine weren't, but return it or complain to the seller to get what's missing. Can't read the schematic? Complain to the seller or look on the Net because the circuit is copied by many. Don't like the output? Learn from the experience - there are lots of mods to the circuit out there. (Some links were in my original review but they are against rules.) A hole isn't drilled? Get some tiny drill bits or improvise. Parts too close? Get a magnifying glass (try SMD soldering for closeness :). Bottom line - it's an inexpensive kit that can help someone interested in electronics learn something about circuits, or a consumer get what they paid for by complaining to Amazon. There is a lot of information on the Net about the circuit in this device. Just look for XR2206 signal generator. As an Electronics Engineer I recommend kits like this, and doing research on it, to learn electronics. Cheers! The parts arrived in a sealed 'anti-static' bag. The PCB and instructions were in a smaller zip bag within the sealed bag. Everything is there, and parts that need labels have them (e.g. color codes on resistors, part codes on capacitors and potentiometers). One cap appeared missing but was found inside a knob. The XR2206 is not labeled so is suspect. It came with a case that fit together well and I did not need instructions, yeah. The four corner machine bolts that hold the top to the bottom are supposed to screw into the bottom plastic. The Weewooday Signal Generator Kit instructions are few and the circuit schematic is poorly copied. However, the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is clean and has good screen printing for parts layout. Contruction info and a schematic for the XR2206 kit is available from many sources - YouTube, several vendor sites, etc. As mentioned by others, there are some simple mods for the kit that make it a bit better. All needed info is on the Net; just search for XR2206 signal generator. Will update this when construction and testing are finished. Until then it's a bargain for less than $9 that was bought to complement a DSO Shell (DSO150) oscilloscope. Cheers ... show more

  • fun project
Item Package Quantity: 1
I am always putting things together to make my own things I need and this was perfect for me since I like to make things anyway this was a fun project for me to do. It was easy for me to put together bc I have knowledge about all this stuff bc this is my job, but with saying that this wouldn't be suitable for someone who has never put something like this together before. It was a little difficult with the instructions bc they were a bit out of order and seemed to not make sense to me in some spots but overall if this is the type of thing you like to do then I suggest getting this. People who don't put together stuff like this I wouldn't suggest this. I gave it a 5 bc it was easy for me and it worked great after I put it together. I hope this helps. ... show more
