I feel like many reviews missed the point of these pillows so here is my take: First, when unpacking you have to separate the chunks within the pillow before letting them poof up for teh 24 hour period. If you don't do this, they're unlikely so separate enough, which would explain some of the reviews stating that the pillow is concentrated at one end or lumpy. Second, these are very firm pillows. They are soft enough to be comfortable, yet unyielding to even a heavy head like mine. The fact is that the head doesn't have enough weight to make much of a dent in the structure of a pillow. This gives the pillow a few specific purposes that it is ideal for. It is great as a pillow for between the legs or under you as the body and leg weight is enough to form it while still providing a bit of separation all night long. Standard pillows flatten out after some time in uses like this, so for this they are ideal. It is a great pillow for a bottom pillow under your head. If you can't sleep on the crazy firmness you can stack another pillow on top with a little more give and the bottom, firm, structural pillow will keep you elevated all night. Furthermore it will not squish down so much that it slips between the mattress and the headboard. Gone are the days of fishing lost pillows out from the black hole of the headboard! In conclusion, they're not the most comfortable on the head, however they are great for many uses around the bed. Given enough of them, you could make a pillow fort that would withstand a car crash. They're great, but not for a head pillow to anyone who doesn't crave a bit of elevation. ... show more

They arrived very quickly, nicely packaged and just on time to go to the laundromat and fluff them up in the dryer. I had absolutely no issue with any smells of any kind from the time I took them out of the packaging they had no odor at all. From the moment I took them out of the dryer I had prejudged them and decided that I was going to hate them. They are much more heavy and dense than anything that I am used to. They were very soft and comfortable so I gave them a shot and I'm so glad I did because now I love them. It did take a little getting used to because I am not used to having that much support but it has done wonders for my neck. You can really kind of manipulate the filling and adjust to your liking and it will stay like that (unlike the MyPillow). I had a my pillow and this is much different in a good way it is a lot more supportive and sturdy pillow. This pillow really and truly keeps its shape. I have been sleeping on it for several months and a quick fluff brings it back to brand new every time. It is very full but it fits nicely in a standard pillowcase. I also love the very soft quilted, zippered case that it comes with. my husband is a side sleeper and suffers from costochondritis and osteoarthritis. he uses his to hug when he sleeps because it gives a lot of support to his chest and back which is where he has aches and pains. every other pillow he uses just gets smushed and collapses under the pressure but this one provides support all night long. He says he feels a big difference when he wakes up in the morning. This pillow is really well made very & good quality.AND you can't beat the price! ... show more

    • Nice but packaged oddly
Soo the only reason I gave 4 stars is I feel they could package these differently instead they come all smashed and rolled up super tightly they are extremely hard to get out of the packaging as well once you finally get them out you have to read directions on how to make them "ready" the process is 24hrs because you have to unroll the pillow and once you do the like inside stuffing is all crazy and wadded up so it's says you have to use your hands and forearms to roll around the pillow on each side for 1-2 mins that was a workout lol then you let them sit for 24hrs so they can gain thickness and stuff so it's definitely a bit of a process but for the price of 2 you can't beat it they are nice and firm but still had that memory foam like softness so you basically just have to work for it lol ... show more

The pillows are definitely plump. They fluff up if you follow the directions great. However, I would say these are extra firm pillows. I woke up with a sore neck after the first night. Not a big deal. They're still great for laying in bed doing some work, or laying in bed and watching a movie, but to sleep on? I don't know, maybe if you enjoy pain, go ahead. I still can't turn my head a certain direction without pain. Also, there is absolutely nothing about these pillows that are cooling. In fact, they may get just as hot, if not, hotter than my normal crappy Walmart pillows. Overall, just not for me. I'll still use them though. However, if you like extra extra extra firm pillows, you will love this product. ... show more
