I was looking for a simple sewing machine to make blankets to donate to the animal shelter (cats love fleece). I had been hand sewing them but I figured my hands wouldn't last long with tendinitis and the start of carpal tunnel in my wrists and hands. I had learned the basics of machine sewing years ago but could never do well enough to take on more extensive projects. With this, a simple stitch on all four sides, I figured even I could do it. This machine comes pre-threaded and ready to go which is great to build confidence. I had so much fun with it that in the first use, I had the chance to replace the bobbin, thread the machine and wind a new bobbin. I feel very confident in using this machine. The only drawback on the machine is that it does not take the larger spools of thread - the 200 yard spools. I'll probably jury-rig something to make it work (just needs to stick out a couple of millimeters and it would work). It also slides around a little more on the table than I'd like but I'll fix that with a rubber mat under it. Overall, this is a great starter machine or one where you need very basic sewing technique; anything more than that, you would want to invest in a larger, more solid machine. I am glad I purchased it and look forward to making many more blankets for the cats in the animal shelter. ... show more

Very disappointed!! I enjoy sewing & I was excited that my granddaughter showed interest. I bought this for her for Christmas. We can’t use it. The foot pedal sews as soon as it is plugged in. It moves so fast that the thread knots as soon as you turn it on. In fact, I feel like it’s dangerous. I’m afraid she is going to get hurt using this. The speed is way too fast. Would not recommend this at all!! Think hard before purchasing this. I really wanted to like it & for my granddaughter to enjoy sewing. ... show more

It is simple and basic, good enough for beginner. I used them to make mask and the fabric are cotton and thin. If I used anything thicker than the cotton fabric the machine will struggle to proceed which require pulling the fabric upward. I find it easier to use the hand roller forward a few times than turn on the low switch to proceed. Not gonna complain because what I paid for, is what you get and its good enough for what I am buying them for. The pedal where the needle goes thru tends to wiggle a lot and there are times the needle would hit it and because I only use it on low, its a good thing the needle did not break on me. So yeah, its a simple machine with a good enough power to make simple stuff but it will struggle if you try to use a thicker fabric or tripper over the fabric. ... show more

This machine is cute, and when u figure out it’s twitches, it’s works fine for small projects or fixes. Pros: 1. It’s compact and cute. 2. It’s cheap, came quickly, and is packaged well. 3. It does sew the stitches that it claims to, and comes with a couple extra bobbins and spools of thread. *Note: Reverse stitch is only for stitches 1-4. I didn’t see that stated anywhere in the description, but it is noted in the manual. Cons: 1. It can jam easily. It comes with cheap fuzzied thread which may attribute. Idk. It jammed on my second stitch attempt and several times after. 2. Threading the bobbin for the first stitch is tricky but doable. The instructions are fairly clear on how to, but you need to know how and which threads to pull out from under foot to do it. I used my small scissors to slide them out. 3. The deal breaker for me - It uses a mini size spool that I assume is proprietary to this machine style only. The metal bobbin I am sure can be found somewhere to get more, but with this custom spool it does not allow you to use a standard spool, large or small. So, in order to use any color other than the black or white provided, you have to buy some mini spools of most likely the same cheap thread? Or, you have to figure out how to wind thread to their spool…? I thought about how I could do this, and even began an attempt, before realizing that I could really only change the bobbin thread color. I already have loads of quality thread in many colors that I would like to use. Am I missing something? Idk. So as I see it, if you’re fine sewing with only black and white, buying more little spools, or ditching the machine once the provided spools run out, then spend the 50$, it’s cute and compact. I bought it to sew a quilt with my granddaughter, but I will be looking for a “real” sewing machine. I was told quality products create quality operators, and I want her to learn right. I shouldn’t have second guessed myself and been cheap and spent the money she’s worth. I hope for her to have her new machine a long while. Oh, and when the machine dial won’t change stitches, make sure the needle is up. I think that’s the problem people are having. ... show more

This little machine works great. My first impression was surprise at how small and how light it is. My only experience sewing was in school about 15 years ago, so I am not an expert. The machine works great. All the functions work. It is easy to thread and to change to bobbins. Winding the bobbins is super easy as well. I appreciate being able to adjust the thread tension so I can sew a variety of fabrics. From my first impression of the machine and not having sewn in 15 years, I say it is very easy to use and beginner friendly. If you are looking for a machine to learn on, try this. Now for the negative. I found the knob that adjusts the type of stitch used is incredibly hard to turn. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or if it just very tight. ... show more
