  • Happy Birthday to Me
Style: PE900
I am loving this! This was my treat to me. I am totally addicted to embroidering. The machine is pretty easy to get used to. Brother websites are very helpful. I downloaded Artspira and got a subscription where you can upload pics and it will digitize it for you!! BONUS.. I have had some user errors and it was all on me. Definitely change your needle with each project! Other than that, the sky’s the limit with this machine……. ... show more

  • Replacement for my PE800! Huge upgrade!
Style: PE900
Although these machines look and function pretty much identically to the pe800 the biggest upgrade I have found is one I never knew mattered. WIFI!!!! Both the pe800 and 900 have built in designs and a slot for a USB but I had NO IDEA that having WiFi would make such a difference for me. I’m able to work on graphics sitting w my family in the evening and zap it to the machine to make the next morning. Yes, throwing a file on a flash drive isn’t exactly hard, and you do still have that option… but I LOVE the WiFi feature!! When you are setting the machine up be sure to go thru the machine’s settings and name your machine before you try installing any of the software otherwise it can’t recognize your machine on the network. If it doesn’t recognize your machine you can’t use the WiFi feature. The 900 seems to be extra sensitive. Some files that I had to go thru and bold the lines to make them sew nice and visible for my 800, I’m now having to go thru and thin the lines out again or they are WAY too heavy and dark sewing them on the 900. So that’s a bit of a PITB! If you digitize your own files make sure your graphics are CLEAN cuz it picks up every stray pixel!!! But the bobbins, hoops, bobbin cases are all interchangeable and the rest seems to function the same. It reads .pes files. I’m happy with it!! And this is a SCREAMING DEAL! ... show more

Just love this machine. Bought it to replace my old Kenmore combination machine. Stitching is awesome and love the ease of transferring designs using WI-FI.

  • Worthless
Style: PE900
Just ordered the Brother PE900. It arrived yesterday but already returned it today for a full refund. It arrived quickly with no damage. It was packaged well from the factory. I already own 4 Brother sewing machines, as well as a PE 535 and a Brother 550 D embroidery machine. All my previous. Brother purchases have been quality machines that give me excellent service. My oldest machine is nearly 15 years old and still runs as good as the day I purchased it. However quality control is slipping. My brand new Brother PE900 was defective and completely inoperable. First the needle threader did not work. So I hand thread the needle. Placed my project(a simple kitchen towel) in the hoop and started my design. Within 3 or 4 stitches the machine jammed and pulled the fabric into the throat plate, tearing a quarter inch hole in my fabric. Then the carriage made a violent fish tail motion. Then the motor made a very loud clunking sound and it was all over. I JUST PURCHASED A $1200 LEMON!!! I was so very dissapoibted in Brother. A machine with even one defect should never leave the factory let alone a machine with multiple issues!!! I am very angry and frustrated to be put thru this anguish and needless inconvenience of a return, a refund and finally a second inconvenience of ordering and then waiting once again for a second machine!!!But inspite of all that, I still say Amazon and Brother are good companies. It was my bad luck to receive a defective product. I love the Brother PE900. I have waited years and years to afford to step up and own such a fine machine. SO once again I will patiently wait fir the eventual arrival of a new machine with no defects. ... show more

  • Good For Craft, But There's A Catch
Style: PE900
First off if you plan to embroider the "canned" designs and fonts, on quilting, shirts, easy flat stuff it's fine. If you want to do custom embroidery, you will have to purchase Digitizing software (full packages cost about $1000). There was an issue with the machine and Brother told me to take it to an authorized dealer...minimum three weeks to evaluate the issue (I am mechanically inclined and had to fix it myself). Occasionally the machine drive motors miss a step and shift the frame, so the registration is off and realigning it is a major pain, and mostly impossible to get it perfect, so the project is basically ruined. Embroidery in general has a pretty steep learning curve as far a design, digitizing, etc.. If you are a fast learner, and want to do more complex designs, you may want to look an a different machine. I have had this for about a month and already surpassed it capabilities. ... show more

  • Review from a beginner
Style: PE900
So I decided to explore the embroidery world and did some research on the best machines for a beginner. I had lots of recommendations for the PE800, but then saw that the PE900 was a newer version and had the 5x7 hoop, jump stitch feature, and the Artspira app. I will say, I have not and probably will not find any usefulness for the app. I typically buy digitized PES files and upload through a USB port. Since i was under the impression that the app would be really beneficial, this was one of the main reasons I decided to buy this machine. But since it was kind of useless, I probably could have bought a cheaper machine. As a beginner, I did like having the step by step tutorials available on the LED screen for stuff like changing the thread, loading the bobbin, changing a needle, etc. One of the only issues that I have noticed is I have to be careful loading my bobbin. If I do not get the thread in there just right, It will cause my stitches to be loose and messy. ... show more

  • Great machine
Style: PE900
This is my 4th embroidery machine I've purchased, and I keep going back to Brother. It is so user friendly and affordable. It took me a little time to get the tension set when I unboxed it, but it sews beautifully and easily. This was a wonderful upgrade from my PE700. The USB port, wireless ability, and the ability to update the software myself from their website are all great features. I would definitely buy this machine if you're on the fence. ... show more
